Hengtanggang Township, belonging to Jin'an District of Lu'an City, Anhui Province, is located in the south of Jin'an District of Lu'an City, the north foot of Dabie Mountain and the back of Jianghuai watershed. It is located in Gucheng village, hengtanggang Township, 34 kilometers south of Lu'an county. According to the dictionary of ancient and modern place names in China, it is the site of Qian County in the Western Han Dynasty, and the site of Yunqian county is in Huoshan County. There are many ancient document sites in Lu'an area. From November to December in 1934, Wang Xiang and Li Jingdan of the Institute of history, language and education of Academia Sinica investigated prehistoric sites in some areas of Shouxian County, and found 12 ancient cultural sites (four of which are now in Changfeng County). A total of 347 cultural relics were found in all counties, including 138 in Lu'an County, 89 in Huoqiu County, 52 in Shucheng County, 45 in Shouxian County, 12 in Jinzhai County and 11 in Huoshan County. Most of them are Neolithic sites, some of which extend to the Shang and Zhou dynasties, and most of them are distributed on the high slope terrace by the river or lake.
