Hongheqiao town

Hongheqiao Town, belonging to Funan County, Fuyang City, Anhui Province, is located in the lower reaches of Honghe River at the junction of Anhui and Henan provinces and three counties (Huaibin County and Gushi County, Henan Province). S202 road passes through the town, 20 km away from Funan County in the north and 16 km away from Huaibin County in the south. It is adjacent to Wangjiaba town in the East, Fangji town and Duanying town in the west, Gongqiao Town, Dicheng town and Yuji town in the north, and balustrade, Wanggang town and XiangLiu town in Huaibin County and Gushi County in Henan Province in the south.

Hongheqiao town has 25 administrative villages, 188 natural villages and 318 residential groups.

It was set up in Jixiang in 1950. In 1958, it belonged to the local city commune. In 1979, it was established in hongheqiao commune. In 1984, it was changed into a township. In 1992, it was changed into a town.

It is adjacent to Wangjiaba town in the East, Fangji town and Duanying Township in the west, Gongqiao Township, Dicheng town and Yuji Township in the north and Huaibin County in Henan Province in the south. It covers an area of 84.07 square kilometers and has 62375 people (in 2017). It has jurisdiction over 14 administrative villages, 188 natural villages and 318 villager groups. The town government is located in hongheqiao village, 20 kilometers away from Funan County in the north and 16 kilometers away from Huaibin County in the south. S202 Fu (South) Huai (bin) highway runs through the north and south, and Beijing Kowloon railway passes through the west of the town. There are Honghe River in the South and Fuhe River in the north.

Hongheqiao town is located at the confluence of Honghe River and Huaihe River. The terrain inclines slightly from northwest to Southeast, with an altitude of 30-27.5 meters. The surface of the town is composed of plains, depressions and dams. The rivers in the territory are mainly the two sections of the old Honghe River left by the Honghe River treatment project. The electric power irrigation and drainage station is connected with the Honghe River and the Menghe River flood diversion channel, which is the main irrigation water source in hongheqiao town. Gullies, ponds and depressions are scattered all over the territory, which is suitable for breeding and forest planting. The climate of hongheqiao town belongs to the south edge of warm zone semi humid monsoon climate zone, with obvious transitional zone climate characteristics: obvious monsoon, four distinct seasons, changeable spring, concentrated summer rain, crisp autumn and cold winter. The annual average precipitation is 1000 mm, the annual sunshine is 2252 hours, and the frost free period is 220 days.

Historical evolution

Hongheqiao town belongs to Chu in ancient times and has a long history. Now it is named after Honghe bridge. Before liberation, hongheqiao market town was just a small shop on the way from Fuyang to Huaibin, Xinyang and other places in Henan Province. There were a few houses along the road, with less than 200 residents. The economy was backward and the society was in turmoil. In December 1951, Hongji Township, hongheqiao Township and zhengwan Township were built under the jurisdiction of hongheqiao town. In September 1958, the district was withdrawn and Hongji commune, hongheqiao commune and zhengwan commune were rebuilt in hongheqiao town. In April 1983, Hongji Township, hongheqiao Township and zhengwan Township were set up under the jurisdiction of the local urban area. In January 1992, Hongji Township, hongheqiao Township and zhengwan Township were merged into hongheqiao Town, which has jurisdiction over 28 village committees. In January 2007, 28 village committees were merged into 14.

Development of industry and agriculture

The town has formed eight economic zones of high-quality rice, kenaf, yellow sand, activated carbon, traditional Chinese medicine, animal husbandry, economic forest, fruits and vegetables. The territory is rich in water resources, with 8000 mu of water surface, 190 tons of aquatic products and complete agricultural production facilities. The annual output of activated carbon is 15000 tons, ranking first in the country in terms of production and sales. The sales of bast shell ranks first in the province, and the production of Kenaf, rice, forestry and live pigs are in the forefront of cities and counties.

We plant 35000 mu of high-quality rice, 12000 mu of kenaf, 28000 pigs of improved breeds, and 800000 tons of yellow sand per year. Our wood products and activated carbon are sold at home and abroad, attracting foreign enterprises to settle down in hongheqiao. The newly built honghuai timber trading market with an investment of 1.2 million yuan can operate 600000 mu of timber annually. In order to give full play to the regional economic advantages, the town government plans to establish Qiaoxi village economic and Technological Development Zone, which integrates industry, commerce and catering.

Development status

Over the past few years, relying on the advantages of resources, the town Party committee and the town government have firmly grasped the construction of the "three markets" of timber trading, yellow sand trading and activated carbon sales, and made great efforts to develop the characteristic economy, which has achieved remarkable results. At present, the town has formed three markets of wood, yellow sand and activated carbon, and six economic zones of high-quality rice, kenaf, animal husbandry, aquatic products, economic forest, melon, fruit and vegetable. The average daily trading volume of timber trading market is 150 cubic meters, with an annual trading volume of more than 28 million yuan, driving nearly 500 people to engage in timber trafficking; the annual output of activated carbon is more than 5000 tons, accounting for 80% of the national market share, ranking first in the country in terms of production and sales, and is exported to foreign countries, with an annual output value of nearly 8 million yuan, driving more than 1000 labor employment; the annual sales volume of Huangsha market is more than 12 million tons, with an annual output value of more than 100 million yuan Yuan.

The territory is rich in water resources, with 8000 mu of dead Honghe River surface and 190 tons of aquatic products per year. The high-quality rice planting area is 35000 mu, kenaf planting area is 28000 mu, and the afforestation area exceeds 20000 mu. The rice, kenaf and economic forest areas are in the forefront of cities and counties. There are 11000 improved breed beef cattle in the town, 4 pig farms and 10 improved breed broiler farms, which effectively promote the healthy development of aquaculture and animal husbandry in our town.
