Wenji town

Wenji town is located in the northwest of Yingquan District, Fuyang City, Anhui Province, 28 kilometers away from the main urban area of Fuyang. It is adjacent to Daxin Town and huzong township of Taihe County in the northwest, Taihe County in the north, daiqiao town of Jieshou City in the west, guanhungou village of ninglaozhuang town in the southeast, xingliu town in the East, Zhaoji township of Taihe County in the northeast, and Jiangtang town in the south It also faces Laowan village in Xihu town and Jiulong Town in the southwest across the Quanhe river. The town has 25 village committees, 317 natural villages, 126583 permanent residents (in 2017), 118000 mu of arable land and 143.1 square kilometers of jurisdiction area, making it the largest town in Yingquan district.

On May 26, 2020, Wenji town was selected into the list of strong agricultural towns in 2020.

Wenji town is located 28 kilometers northwest of Fuyang City, adjacent to Taihe County in the north, Jieshou City in the west, Yingzhou District in the South and ninglaozhuang town in the East. The town has 25 village committees, 126583 permanent residents (in 2017), 130000 mu of arable land and 143.1 square kilometers of area. It is the largest rural township in Fuyang City. In recent years, centering on the theme of "enriching the people and strengthening the town", the town Party committee and government have made great efforts to develop "the blooming civil housing economy, the colorful road economy and the characteristic economy of strengthening the town and enriching the people", and strive to build Wenji into a national Highway Star Town, an important cultural town, an industrial cluster town and a characteristic industrial town.

Wenji town was named as the central town by Anhui provincial government in December 1999. National Highway 105 runs through the town for 13.7 kilometers. It is only 30 minutes' drive from Fuyang airport. Two golden waterways, Quanhe River and Shaying River, pass around the town, which can reach the river and sea. The traffic is very convenient. There are six markets in the town, namely Wenji, Lianghe, Yangdian, sutun, Huaji and Duji, with prosperous commerce and trade; the main roads, such as Ningsu Road, Suhua Road, Wenhua Road, Wendu road and Zhongxin Road, are all hardened and connected; the seven rivers, namely Yinghe River, Quanhe River, Liuhe river, guanhungou River, qizigou River, Wudaogou River and caizigou River, have water all the year round and are evergreen all the year round with beautiful ecology.

Wenji town has a long history of culture. It is said that Wenzhong, the Grand Master of Shang Dynasty, once stationed here to develop Wenji. There are many places of interest in Wenji town. The geqiao bridge built in the Ming Dynasty, flying over the Liuhe river, is well preserved and well-known. The "Baidan Sangong" still tells many beautiful legends. Yongle City, built in the Sui Dynasty, still has the legend of Wuxian City once in 60 years. There is also the guanhungou bridge in Xinji. There are five junior middle schools in the town, and the enrollment rate of junior middle schools has been ranked first in the district for many years. Since the reform and opening up, based on its own advantages, relying on the advantages of national highway 105, Yinghe waterway and human resources, Wenji town has paid close attention to attracting investment and vigorously developed the industrial economy dominated by medical technology, shipbuilding, clothing knitting and forest products production. A number of enterprises, such as the Federation of Hong Kong, founder shipbuilding, Yongfeng clothing, Fengshi wood industry, have settled here. At present, there are 5 medical device processing enterprises, 3 pharmaceutical production and development enterprises, 8 shipbuilding enterprises, 3 forest products production enterprises and 4 large-scale industries in the territory, with an annual industrial added value of 620 million yuan. In 2012, it was named industrial cluster town by Fuyang municipal government. Wenji town is located in the vast Huaibei plain, is a typical agricultural town. Over the past two years, the agricultural infrastructure has been significantly improved and the ability to resist natural disasters has been significantly improved by the higher-level agricultural support policies. The ministry level wheat high-yield research area with an area of 10000 mu, xicanger Lake improved seed breeding base with an area of 10000 mu and corn high-yield research core demonstration area have been established successively. The total annual grain yield has reached 81193 tons. At the same time of stabilizing grain production, Wenji town takes land circulation as the starting point, takes "one village, one product" as the main line, and vigorously develops characteristic economy. In the town, 15000 mu of strawberries and 12000 mu of vegetables, melons and fruits are planted annually, forming a characteristic agricultural production pattern of vegetables in the South and strawberries in the north. Wenji strawberry has been certified as green food by the Ministry of agriculture. It is the only green strawberry standardized production demonstration area in Anhui Province. In Anhui Province, the strawberry production pattern of "Changfeng in the South and Wenji in the north" has been formed.

Historical evolution

Wenji flourished in Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty. It was called wenliuji in Qianlong period and Wenji in Daoguang period. After liberation, Wenji has always been the seat of the district and township governments and the center of politics, economy and culture.

In 1958, during the Great Leap Forward period, the people's commune was established by withdrawing the township, and Wenji was set up under the jurisdiction of the district. In 1968, during the cultural revolution, Wenji district was changed into a people's commune. In the early stage of reform and opening up, the system of Wenji district was restored, with jurisdiction over Wenji Township, Lianghekou Township, Huaji Township, sutun Township and Duji township.

In the spring of 1992, the district was withdrawn and merged with the township, and the system of Wenji district was abolished. The original nine villages of Wenji Township, Lianghekou Township and Huaji Township, including Liupen, huazhai, zhaodazhuang and Shangying, were merged to form Wenji town. The town government is located in Wenji.

In March 2006, Wenji town merged the former sutun Township and Wenji town into a new Wenji town according to the work plan of Yingquan district division adjustment.

The evolution of original Wenji Town: Wenji town was established in 1948, commune was established in 1958, township was changed in 1983, and nine villages of Wenji Township, Lianghekou Township and Huaji Township were merged to establish Wenji town in 1992.

In 1997, it covers an area of 77.1 square kilometers and has a population of 61000. It has jurisdiction over Wenji, Daning, Datao, shuangzhuang, Tianmiao, tianzhai, houxiaoqiao, Lianghekou, Chendian, Shazui, qianlaojia, Yingqiao, Zhongmen, zhaodazhuang, Sunying, Wangqiao, huazhai, shuizhanghu, baiyanghu, liupenyao, liubanqiao, Shangying, shenwangying, Huoying, Liulou, daqianying, geqiao, Liying, Yongji and Yeying Temple, liudazhuang, Tianlou, Yangdian 33 village committees. It covers an area of 75.5 square kilometers and has a population of 65000. It governs 33 administrative villages and 156 natural villages.

In 2006, sutun township was merged into Wenji town. The adjusted Wenji town has an area of 143 square kilometers and a population of 120700, making it the largest town in Yingquan district.

The evolution of former sutun township: sutun township is located at the westernmost end of Yingquan District, on the North Bank of Fenquan river. It has jurisdiction over 23 village committees with 53000 people. Fuyang Jieshou highway passes through here. Sutun township was built in 1948, commune was built in 1961, township was changed in 1983, and Duji Township and Huaji Township were merged in 1992. In 1997, with an area of 68.7 square kilometers and a population of 52000, it has jurisdiction over 20 village committees including sutun, liufuzhuang, Huaji, dongtianmiao, Daliu, shangxiaozhuang, houzhanghu, qicaiyuan, Mengzhai, Liguan, Duanzhuang, qianzhanghu, rendazhuang, chengyangzhuang, liuxiaozhai, Liukou, duzhuang, wumiao, Duji and Xinji.

Wenji town is adjacent to Yinghe River in the north and Quanhe River in the south. National Highway 105 runs through the town for 17.5km. There are main roads of Ningsu Road, Suhua road and Wenhua Road in the town. The traffic is convenient and the soil is fertile. The economic and social development is very rapid. In December 1999, it was officially named as the central town by the provincial government.

There are six markets in Wenji Town, including Wenji, Lianghe, Yangdian, sutun, Huaji and Duji, and Datao economic development zone. There are 1135 enterprises and 4436 employees in the town, including 873 agricultural products processing enterprises with an annual marketing income of 120 million yuan.

Wenji town is a big agricultural town. Its main agricultural products are wheat, soybean and corn. At the same time of stabilizing grain production, we should vigorously develop characteristic economy and strive to realize "one village, one product".

Among them, strawberry in the town was approved and certified as green food by the Ministry of agriculture; green eggplant and green pepper were approved and certified as pollution-free agricultural products by the Provincial Agricultural Commission; Wenji goat market and baiyanghu improved pig breeding base were approved as leading enterprises of agricultural industrialization by the Municipal Agricultural Commission. The town has not only farmers' professional cooperatives, but also various professional associations. The town strawberry planting area of more than 8000 mu, vegetable planting area of more than 10000 mu, with pigs, cattle, goats, commercial chicken and other professional large 500 households.
