Jinxi town
Jinxi Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Taihu County, Anqing City, Anhui Province, is the economic, political and cultural center of Taihu County. It is a national key town determined by six national ministries and commissions. It is the hometown of Ma Lan, a famous performing artist of Huangmei Opera, and the main scenic spot of Huating lake, a national 4A scenic spot. It has jurisdiction over 14 village committees, 6 community and neighborhood committees, 167.92 square kilometers, and nearly 129468 people (2019). The total economic volume accounts for more than one third of the county, the total tax revenue of the town exceeds 100 million yuan, and the fiscal revenue of the town is 49 million yuan. The township party committee was awarded the title of "five good township party committee pacesetters" by the Organization Department of the provincial Party committee.
Name and origin
Taihu County was once known as Jinxi County in history. The county government has always been in the town, which got its name because of the county name. "Jin Xi" means bright and prosperous.
Evolution of administrative districts
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, Jinxi town was a territory of Chu. In the Western Han Dynasty, it was Anhui county and Huling County, and Huling County entered Anhui county in the later Han Dynasty. In the northern and Southern Dynasties, it belonged to Jinxi County of Southern Yuzhou, and in the early days of kaihuang of Sui Dynasty, it belonged to Jinxi County (kaihuang changed its name to Taihu County in the 18th year, changed several times in the Tang Dynasty, and renamed Taihu Lake in the 8th year of Wude of Tang Dynasty). Jinxi town was once known as Chengxiang Town, Zhenyu Town, Xinzhi town and Chengguan town in history. In 1942, it was called Jinxi town. After 33 years, it was changed several times. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Jinxi town was renamed in December 1949 until the end of 1955. It changed several times after 1956. In 1992, Chengguan town and Chalu Township were abolished, and they were transferred into Liuyang Township and Wangyang village, and Jinxi town was merged. In June 2004, most of the former Liuyang Township and a small part of Chengxi Township, Lidu Township and Luoxi Township were merged into Jinxi Town, thus forming a system. In February 1992, the Wangyang villages of Chengguan Town, Chalu Township and Liuyang Township merged to establish Jinxi Town, covering an area of 78.28 square kilometers and with a population of 35869. It governs 13 administrative villages including Nanyuan, shagai, ChenWan, Chenchong, Hualiangting, Chalu, gaochong, Donghe, Lichong, Guanyin, Huilong, Jialou and Wangyang, and two neighborhood committees of Dongguan and Xiguan. In 1997, with an area of 68.3 square kilometers and a population of 42000, it has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages including ChenWan, Chenchong, Hualiangting, gaochong, Donghe, Chalu, Lichong, Guanyin, Jialou, Huilong, Wangyang, Nanyuan and shagai. The former Liuyang township is located in the northeast of Taihu Lake, 8 kilometers away from the county seat. Haihui temple, built in the Han Dynasty, is a key temple at the provincial level. Liushanpu commune was established in 1961, and Liuyang township was established in 1984. In February 1992, Liuyang township (except Wangyang Village) and Tiantai Township were merged into Liuyang Township, with an area of 77.54 square kilometers and a population of 25313. It governs 18 administrative villages, including Qilong, Chitu, Wangchong, Wuyang, Guangan, Fengpu, Shihe, Liling, Yuelong, liushanpu, Fanling, chengling, Dongfeng, Yunyi, yinchong, Lichong, Huachong and Yangpai. It governs 18 administrative villages including Qilong, Wangchong, Chitu, Wuyang, Liuzhen, Guang'an, Fengpu, Yuelong, Liling, Shihe, Yangpai, Huachong, Yunyi, Dongfeng, chengling, Fanling, yinchong and Lichong. In 2004, five villages, yinchong, Lichong, Yuelong, Liling and Fengpu, were merged into Xiaochi Town, and the rest into Jinxi town. The territory of Jinxi town is the Wanhe river system. Taking Changhe River as the main stream, it passes 10.8 km from northwest to Southeast. The tributaries of Changhe River include liushanpu River, Luojia River, Wangyang River, gaochong River, Jiulong River, Bajiao River, Guanyin River and Lichong river.
Mineral and other resources
The main mineral resources in Jinxi town are granite, clay, rutile, quartz and so on. In November 1991, the general survey team of Anhui general team of China Building Materials Industry Geological Survey Center found that the total area of granite is 18.372 million square meters, the waste rate is 33%, and the reserve of granite block is 6.1969 million cubic meters. In 1965, the 311 geological team discovered k-43 titanium, or rutile, in wuyangfan during the general survey of the sand mine. After verification, the reserves of grade C2 were obtained, with rutile of 40575 tons and zircon of 4606 tons.
natural disaster
The main natural disasters include drought, flood, wind, snow and geological disasters. From June to February of the next year, there was a severe drought in 1978, which lasted for eight months. From late May to early August, 1991, heavy rain and flood occurred. The highest water level of Hualiangting reservoir was 84.76 meters and 1084 cubic meters per second since its construction.
