Xiaogu town

Xiaogu Town, subordinate to Qianwei County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, is located 21.11 kilometers southeast of Qianwei county. The Minjiang River passes through the town, connecting Tianba and Xinmin Township in the East, tielu and Zhagu Township in the south, Nan'an Township in the west, and longjiu Township in the north. The town covers an area of 50.8 square kilometers. In 2017, the total population of the town was 16753. By 2019, Xiaogu town has two communities and 20 administrative villages.

Historical evolution

According to the records of Qianwei County in the Republic of China, in the Han Dynasty, there was a story about the daughter's drowning to save her father, so it was named xiaoguchang. It is also said that there is a hard-working and beautiful girl named Yaogu on the Bank of the river. In order to avoid being insulted by villains, she was forced to jump into the river and commit suicide. Later, she named the place where she dived Yaogu Tuo.

In the Qing Dynasty, it was called Xiao Gu Chang.

In 1929, duwu township was renamed Xiaogu township.

In June 1951, Xiaogu township was divided into Xiaogu town (only under the jurisdiction of market town), Hongxing Township, Tongxin Township and Xinjian township.

In April 1956, Xiaogu town merged with Tongxin Township and Hongxing township to establish Xiaogu township.

In September 1958, it merged with Zhagu and tielu townships to form Xiaogu people's commune.

In July 1959, Zhagu commune and tielu commune were established.

In 1984, Xiaogu commune was restored to Xiaogu township.

In January 1990, Xiaogu township was abolished and Xiaogu town was established.

On December 13, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved Leshan City to adjust the administrative divisions of 8 counties (cities, districts) including Shizhong District (cfzm [2019] No. 20): Maliuchang community, Banqiao Village, Tuping village, Xintang village, Jintian village, Liangping village, Yanmen village, Shengli Village, Gongtang village, Banzhu village, Guanghua village, Liangfeng village and Ma'ershan village in the original Xinmin Town The administrative region belongs to Xiaogu town. After the adjustment, Xiaogu town has jurisdiction over Xiaogu community, Maliuchang community, Dongfeng Village, baizhixi village, Hongjiu village, Shipan village, Tianjia village, Shawan village, Bayi village, Yongping village, Banqiao Village, Tuping village, Xintang village, Jintian village, Liangping village, Yanmen village, Shengli village, Gongtang village, Banzhu village, Guanghua village, Liangfeng village and Ma'ershan village. The people's Government of Xiaogu town is stationed in Yunzhou 59 Ting Street.

It is said that during the reign of Emperor Shun of the Eastern Han Dynasty, there lived a family near xiaogubaocheng temple. Father and daughter depend on each other for a living by ferry. One summer, when the river rose, father and daughter swayed the boat to the opposite bank to meet people. When the boat reached the middle of the river, father was involved in the big waves. Daughter jumped into the river eagerly to save her father, holding father tightly in both hands and drifting with the water. Later, people found a stone in the place where father and daughter sank. It looked like a girl and stood up with her head high. People said that it might be because the girl was very filial to her father before she died and became an immortal stone after she died, so they named this stone "filial daughter stone". Until now, in the small water season, people can still vaguely see this stone. It is said that the beach where the girl hugs her father's body is called "Baoshi Beach". In memory of the girl, in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, "Xiaogu Temple" was built near the ferry. In the 19th year of emperor Renzong Jiaqing of Qing Dynasty, Wang Menggeng, the magistrate of Qianwei County, chiseled four characters "Xiaodu Liufang" on the stone wall of the ferry to commemorate it, becoming one of the eight sceneries of Qianwei.

Xiaoyan in Yunting: on the West Bank of Minjiang River, there is a towering mountain with luxuriant forests and beautiful scenery. There is Ziyun Pavilion on the mountain. It is said that it was the residence of Han Confucian Yangzi Yun when he lived in Qianwei. Therefore, the mountain is Ziyun mountain. Ziyun mountain is towering and beautiful, with towering ancient trees. When you climb up to Ziyun Pavilion, you can have a panoramic view of Qianwei City, Baita temple, huangqiba, Xiaogu market town and Hekou market. The Minjiang River is like a silver belt, and the gusts of river breeze bring the boatman's labor call, which makes people relaxed and happy. In particular, at dawn, a wisp of white smoke rises from the foot of Ziyun mountain and spreads rapidly around. All of a sudden, the pavilions and pavilions are covered with a thin layer of gauze, which is a natural landscape painting. Then the whole Ziyun mountain falls into the sea of clouds, just like the legendary Penglai fairyland. The ancients chanted "Ziyun fairyland". But for a moment, when you look up, the clouds have dissipated, and the scenery is as before, which is very magical. Therefore, it is called "cloud Pavilion Xiaoyan", which has become one of the eight sceneries in Qianwei.
