Chenyaohu town is named after chenyaohu, a 23000 Mu provincial wetland reserve. Historical evolution

Chenyaohu town is an important part of Wanzhong Anti Japanese base area, one of the 19 Anti Japanese base areas in China. In February 1940, the third detachment of the new fourth army advanced to establish the Tongdong Anti Japanese guerrilla base with chenyaohu town as the center.
