Anzhou Street

Anzhou street is located in the main urban area of Xianju County, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, adjacent to Fuying street in the East, Nanfeng street in the south, Guanlu town in the west, Pan'an County and Tiantai County in the north. Now Anzhou street is located in the former site of "Xianju No.3 Primary School" in Ximen village.

Name and origin

Folk Art

Curly Earth Dragon (Jiujie dragon) is a kind of dragon dance created by villagers in lingxiazhang village of Anzhou street, which has a history of more than 100 years. It is said that in the late Qing Dynasty, Zhang cuncai advocated that the third eldest son had no son for many years after marriage and was happy to have a son in his prime. In order to celebrate his son's birthday, his wife Wang Yunlan drew a dragon picture and organized the villagers to learn how to dance the Dragon. After the reform and opening up, the dragon dance team was re established.

The dragon dance team is composed of more than 30 people. The whole process includes: Panlong entrance, Erlong draught, Erlong nuzhu, Panjiao, dragon drawing, four pressure angles, four door drawing and other dance forms.
