Linhuan town

Linhuan Town, also known as Gucha town in ancient times, belongs to Suixi County, Huaibei City, Anhui Province. It is located in the central and southern part of Suixi County, adjacent to Hancun town in the East, Wugou town in the south, Shigong town and Qingting town in Woyang County in the west, Baishan town in the north and 37km away from Suixi County.

Linhuan town has a total area of 167.38 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of 19 administrative villages, with a total population of 96429 (at the end of 2014); in 2014, the town achieved a total industrial and agricultural output value of 2.627 billion yuan.

Linhuan town is an ancient town with a history of one thousand years. As a "pilot town of national development and reform", it has been awarded the honorary titles of "famous historical and cultural town of Anhui Province", "hometown of Chinese folk culture and art", "characteristic landscape tourism town of Anhui Province".

Historical evolution

In the Shang Dynasty, the whole country was divided into nine states. Linhuan was located in the north of Huaihai, so it was Xuzhou. The system of Shang Dynasty was the same as that of Xia Dynasty. In the Western Zhou Dynasty, King Wu of Zhou divided the world into Jiuji, Linhuan was changed to "Jiuzhou", and the surname of the state was Sunan, named king Suping. In the spring and Autumn period, Ziyi was established, belonging to the state of song. In the late Warring States period, Ziyi became the border of Song state and the gateway to Chu state. After the death of the state of song in Qi, it was reduced to the territory of the state of Chu, and it was still a capital. Qin, Zhizhi County, Linhuan set, belongs to Sishui county. (Zhixiang County, now Huaibei). In the Western Han Dynasty, Gaozu changed Sishui county to Pei county. In the Huanglong period (49 BC), Zi county was changed to Runan County. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Zhi county was changed to Pei state. During the Three Kingdoms period, Qiaojun was set up in the Wei Dynasty, and Zixian belonged to Qiaojun. Later, Ruyang County was added, and Zixian county was changed into Ruyang County. Cao Cao divided Pei state into Yan County, and zuicheng and Qi County into Yan County. In the Western Jin Dynasty, the county belonged to the state of Qiao. During the northern and Southern Dynasties, the county was abandoned in the Song Dynasty. In the late Liu Song Dynasty and the Southern Qi Dynasty, Linhuan was occupied by the Northern Wei Dynasty, and then the territory of Liang Dynasty. In the sixth year of Emperor Wu of Liang Dynasty (525 AD), Linhuan county was set up. In the first year of Tianbao in the Northern Qi Dynasty (550 AD), Linhuan county was abolished and set up. In the Sui Dynasty, Linhuan county was under the jurisdiction of Qiao County. In Tang Dynasty, Linhuan County belonged to Beiqiao county. In 643 ad, qiaozhou was abolished and Linhuan county was changed to Bozhou. In 809 ad, Xianzong established Suzhou as Henan Province, and Linhuan county was under the jurisdiction of Suzhou. In the Five Dynasties, Linhuan was still set up as a county under the jurisdiction of Suzhou. In the Song Dynasty, Pei state was divided into Nanpei and Beipei, and Zhicheng was the territory of Beipei. In the fifth year of song Kangning, Fuli County, Qi county and Linhuan county were changed to Henan Dao, and then they were given to Jin. In the Yuan Dynasty, Linhuan, Qi County, Lingbi and Fuli counties were transferred to guide Prefecture in Henan Province; in the second year of the Yuan Dynasty (1265 AD), Linhuan was incorporated into Suzhou, and Linhuan county was abandoned and reduced to a township, named Huanyang township. In the Ming Dynasty, Linhuan still belonged to a township in Suzhou, which was renamed Linyang township. In the Qing Dynasty, the old system was still used. In 1790, Linhuan was changed into a sub Prefecture under the jurisdiction of Suzhou; in 1911, Linhuan was changed into Linhuan town. During the Anti Japanese War, the Japanese army moved northward along the Jinpu railway, and the left wing invaded Linhuan from Mengcheng, burning, killing and looting. During the war of liberation, Linhuan was divided into districts, which were under the jurisdiction of Suxi County, the sixth division of the Soviet Henan Anhui border region. In July 1950, Suxi county was withdrawn and Suixi County was established. Linhuan district was under the jurisdiction of Suixi County. In August 1958, Linhuan district was withdrawn and Linhuan people's commune was established. In December 1980, Linhuan district was re established, and in February 1992, Linhuan district was withdrawn and divided into Linhuan and Qiji towns. In 2000, Linhuan town was approved as the Deputy County town of Suixi County. In March 2006, 19 villages in Qiji town were merged into Linhuan town.
