Zhanggou town is located in the hinterland of the beautiful and rich Jianghan Plain, only 15 kilometers away from Xiantao City. It belongs to Hubei Province, China. It is adjacent to national highway 318 and Hurong Expressway in the north and Honghu in the old revolutionary base area in the south. As the intersection of Xianhong and Xianjian highways, it is the first support point for the southern expansion of Xiantao City, and has been incorporated into the overall planning and revision of Xiantao City. According to the records of Mianyang annals in Jiajing period, this place was named lunlang, and it made great achievements. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, there were more and more foreigners. Among them, Zhang of Jiangxi Province settled in Xiaogou, so Zhangjiagou got its name and later became a market town. Zhanggou district was established in 1956. In 1958, the district was withdrawn and Zhanggou town commune was established. In 1961, the district system was restored and Guohe river was delimited. Zhanggou town was set up in 1984 and xinlirenkou town was set up in 1985.

It governs 18 administrative villages including xinlirenkou, Xigang, Zhangjiachang, Xintan, tangliwan, liujiaqiao, Paihu, fengjiaqiao, laozhagou, xinzhagou, mengjiatan, tangpengnao, lvjiayu, Batai, sihegou, Wuling, fengshenwan and Jieyang.
In 2001, xinlirenkou town was abolished and merged into Zhanggou town. In 2004, the town government was stationed in Zhangjiagou, with a population of 79016 and an area of 143.8 square kilometers. Geography overview
Zhanggou town is located in the middle of Hubei Province, in the south of Jianghan Plain and on the South Bank of the lower reaches of Hanjiang River. It is adjacent to Hanyang in the East, Qianjiang in the west, Dongjing River in the south, Honghu and Jianli in the south, Hanjiang River in the north, Tianmen and Hanchuan Yidai water in the north. The city is 82 kilometers away from the provincial capital Wuhan. The largest horizontal distance from east to west is 78 km, and the largest vertical distance from north to south is 35 km. It is shaped like a flying butterfly, with a total area of 2520 square kilometers, accounting for 1.35% of the total area of the province.
The city is an alluvial plain, high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with flat terrain and little fluctuation. Famous scenic spot
Canglang Pavilion is a famous scenic spot in Zhanggou. In ancient times, there was a tributary of Hanjiang River flowing through Mianyang, which was called Canglang river. During the Warring States period, when Qu Yuan, a senior official of the state of Chu, was in exile, he swam through the Canglang River and met a fisherman at Zhanggou. He was very sad. The fisherman sang a song of Canglang, which inspired Qu Yuan to face the reality and spread it as a historical story. In the middle of Tang Dynasty, to commemorate Qu Yuan, the sages of Mianyang built Canglang hall in Zhanggou. Canglang hall is located in the north of Tongzhou, Zhanggou Town, beside Zhanggou cinema, which used to be a place for religious activities. Chen Youliang once set up a martial arts school here, but Zhang Nanxian once taught here.
