Erba town

Erba town belongs to Jiujiang District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province, located in the northwest of Wuhu City. The town is surrounded by the Yangtze River and Yuxi River. The northernmost end of the town is Yuxikou, the entrance of Yuxi River. The southeast of the town is across the river from the main urban area of Wuhu City. The shoreline of the Yangtze River of Erba town is more than 30 kilometers, and the line of Yuxi River is more than 10 kilometers. It governs 10 administrative villages and 4 communities with a total population of 59415 (2017). Erba Economic Development Zone of Wuhu City is located in the town. The town covers a total area of 99 square kilometers, including 48000 mu of arable land. It is one of the 1887 key towns in China and 63 key construction towns in Anhui Province. It is also one of the first batch of pilot towns in Anhui Province.

On the morning of April 15, at the headquarters of Jiangbei new area in Erba Town, the unveiling ceremony of Jiangbei and Jiangnan emerging industrial concentration areas in Anhui Province was held. Historical evolution

In September 1958, Yongnan commune was established by Banqiao and Wuzhong. Erba town was built in 1979 and Jiaoji and Chang'an townships were merged into Erba town in 1992.

Yongnan township was changed in 1983. In 1996, Erba Town, with an area of 77 square kilometers and a population of 38000, governed 17 administrative villages including Hetan, yangguai, Wuqiao, nongchang, Tiangou, Maonao, Chang'an, Longquan, yuliu, Xiaguang, Yongning, waiwei, Erba, Zhonglu, zhaiwan, Jiaoji and Dachang, and 2 neighborhood committees including Erba and station; Yongnan Township, with an area of 45 square kilometers and a population of 27000, governed Fenshui, Yangba, Wuzhong and Jianshe There are 19 administrative villages including datan, Guoqing, Yongnan, zhundi, xigeng, wangba, Angu, shuilou, Huangwei, Wuxian, tishu, Shishi, Kangwan and pushui.

In 2004, Yongnan township was abolished and merged into Erba town.

In 2011, Erba town was put under the jurisdiction of Wuhu City along with Wuwei County.

In March 2013, with the consent of the provincial government and the approval of the Provincial Department of civil affairs, some administrative divisions of Jiujiang district and Wuwei County of Wuhu City were adjusted, and the Erba town and Tanggou town of Wuwei County were put under the jurisdiction of Jiujiang District of Wuhu City (Wuhu City officially announced that Erba town and Tanggou town of Wuwei County were put under the jurisdiction of Jiujiang district on March 28, 2013). So far, Erba town is officially under the jurisdiction of Jiujiang District of Wuhu City.

On April 15, 2020, at the headquarters of Jiangbei new area in Erba Town, the unveiling ceremony of the new industrial concentration areas in Jiangbei and Jiangnan of Anhui Province was held. Li Jinbin, Secretary of Anhui provincial Party committee, and Li Guoying, governor of Anhui Province, unveiled the new industrial concentration areas in Jiangbei and Jiangnan of Anhui Province. In terms of industrial layout, according to the objective law of industrial agglomeration development, combined with the overall planning and industrial planning of Wuhu City, several industrial functional areas are planned in different areas of Jiangbei emerging industrial concentration area of Wanjiang river. In Dalongwan area (56 square kilometers), Qianwan modern service industry cluster, Xiwan science and technology city and Beiwan intelligent equipment manufacturing park are planned.
