Shuihu town

Shuihu Town, located in the north of Hefei City, Anhui Province, is the county seat and government residence of Changfeng County. It is adjacent to Luqiao Town, Dingyuan County, Chuzhou City in the East, zuodian Township and Luotang Township, zuojiaoben County in the south, Caoan Town, Tianjiaan District, Huainan City in the West, and Kongdian Township, Datong District, Huainan City in the north. It is the political, information, cultural and educational center of the whole county and the economic center in the north central region. Shuihu town governs 14 communities and 19 administrative villages, covering an area of 121.1 square kilometers (2017), with a total population of 112147 (2017). The built-up area has more than ten square kilometers.

Shuihu town is located in the north of Jianghuai Hilly Area. It is a plain along the Huaihe River. The east slope of the watershed between Gaotang lake and Wabu Lake has less undulation. The terrain in the town is high in the West and low in the East, with both hills and bays. The terrain along Gaotang Lake is low-lying. The maximum elevation of contour line is 40m in zhoulaogang and 18m in dazhouwei. It belongs to subtropical monsoon humid climate zone. Shuihu town was originally a village inhabited by water surnames, commonly known as "shuijiahu". During the period of the Republic of China, when Huainan railway opened to traffic and set up stations, "Hu" was mistaken for "Hu", which was called "shuijiahu station". Shuihu town belonged to Xinglong Township of Shouxian County before liberation, Shuihu township of Dingyuan county and Xinjie township of Shouxian county at the beginning of liberation. In 1956, Shouxian Shuihu township was merged and established, and Shuihu commune was established in 1958. When Changfeng County was established in 1965, it was the residence of the county people's government, and Shuihu town was set up at the same time. In 1968, Shuihu town was abolished and merged into Shuihu commune. In 1971, Shuihu town was restored. In February 1992, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and the two administrative villages of Shuihu Township and zhangci Township were put under the jurisdiction of Shuihu town.

In 1997, it covers an area of more than 80 square kilometers and has a population of 50000. It has jurisdiction over 16 village committees including Shuihu, Qiangang, Gangchen, Liji, Xiaogang, Miaogong, Ruanxiang, Huanggang, Wugang, Dayang, Liwei, Yanhu, Nankong, Dadu and Dazhou, and 8 neighborhood committees including Changfeng, Changshou, Xiatang, Wushan, Xinfeng, Changhe, Changhuai and Zhanzhan. In October 2005, zhangci township was incorporated into Shuihu town. After the adjustment, Shuihu town covers an area of 120.1 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 113000.

The former zhangci township (which has been abolished) is located in the west of Changfeng County, 5 kilometers away from the county seat. Water (Lake) Cao (an) road transit. Xinglong commune was established in 1958, then renamed zhangci commune, and changed to township in 1983. In 1997, it covers an area of 67 square kilometers and has a population of 27000. Geography and climate

Shuihu town is located in the northernmost part of Hefei, the provincial capital. It is adjacent to shilihuang township of Dingyuan in the East, xumiao, zuodian and Luotang townships of the county in the south, caoan'an in Huainan in the west, and Kongdian in Huainan in the north. history

Shuihu town was originally a small village inhabited by the surname Shui, commonly known as "shuijiahu". It was the hometown of shuibaichuan, a martyr of the 1911 Revolution. When Huainan railway station was opened to traffic in 23 years of the Republic of China, "Hu" was mistaken for "Hu", which was called "shuijiahu station". Before liberation, it belonged to Xinglong Township of Shouxian county. At the beginning of liberation, it belonged to Shuihu township of Dingyuan county and Xinjie township of Shouxian county. Shuihu township of Shouxian county was established in 1956, Shuihu commune was established in 1958, and Shuihu town was established in 1965.
