Chumen was built in 1387, the 20th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty, belonging to Yueqing county. The Chenghua period of Ming Dynasty was 1476, belonging to tai29 night, commonly known as "big night" or "thirty night". A few days earlier, every household made glutinous rice dumplings and made new year's goods. On that day, every house was cleaned inside and outside, and door couplets and door gods were pasted on them. They looked fresh and happy. At night, they serve dishes, light incense, burn paper, and offer sacrifices to their ancestors. Then, a family reunion to eat "New Year's Eve dinner", the elders to the younger generation of "lucky money.". The head of the household put a "thousand pieces" on each important appliance, saying it was a "lucky money" for the appliance. Housewives cook "Chinese New Year's dinner", which means there is food left over. Then the adults sit together and chat until midnight, commonly known as "Shou Sui".
When the house is closed, three firecrackers should be set off, which is called "closing gun". The form of "big night" still exists, but the content has changed. Giving utensils "lucky money" and cooking "New Year's dinner" and other forms are gradually abandoned. Every room has bright lights and "New Year's Eve dinner" is more intelligent.
