Tangxia town
Tangxia town is located in the northeast of Ruian City, on the Bank of Tanghe River, east of the East China Sea. It is adjacent to tingtian street in the south, Jinhu street in the west, Xianyan street in Ouhai District in the north and Haicheng street in Longwan District in the northeast. The area is 81.6 square kilometers (2019), the registered residence population is 175 thousand and 900 people 40 thousand and 500 (2019), the resident population 184 thousand and 500 people (2019). It has jurisdiction over 5 offices, 8 residential areas, 69 villagers' committees and 14 community residents' committees. The town government is located in shaozhaicun, 12 kilometers away from Ruian City. 104 National Road, G15 Shenhai expressway, Binhai Avenue and Wenruitang River transit. The historic sites include the Longxiang temple built in the reign of Liang Tianjian and the coastal city defense built in the reign of Ming Hongwu.
Tangxia is a pilot town of national development and reform, a pilot town of small city cultivation in Zhejiang Province, and a capital of automobile and motorcycle parts in China. In October 2017, it ranked 19th among the top 1000 towns in China. On October 9, 2018, Tangxia town was selected as one of the top 100 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2018. On September 11, 2019, it will be selected as "top 100 comprehensive competitiveness of Chinese towns in 2018". On October 8, 2019, it will be selected into the top 100 towns of China's top 1000 comprehensive strength in 2019.
In 2019, Tangxia town will be listed as the key area of Wenzhou science and innovation corridor planning, and become one of the cores of Wenzhou metropolitan area construction. Wenzhou rail transit line S2, Wenzhou rail transit line S3 and Wenzhou rail transit line M1 (long term) all have stations in Tangxia town.

In 2001, ten administrative villages in Tangxia Town, including Shangtu, Xiyi, Zhongxing, Dongmen, Daitou, Shitan, Yumen, qiuzhai, Dongxi and Dongcheng, and two neighborhood committee districts, Qiangang and Hougang, were put under the jurisdiction of Longwan District. At the end of 2007, it covers an area of 83 square kilometers, with a permanent resident population of 170900 and a floating population of 110300. It has jurisdiction over 5 offices, 8 residential areas and 89 administrative villages.
In 2011, according to the sixth census data of Ruian City, Tangxia town has a resident population of 340000. The town government is located in tangchuannan street, shaozhaicun. Tangxia town set up Tangxia Central District new town between Tangxia office and Baotian office. According to the guidance of Wenzhou municipal government, Tangxia new district and Tangxia town were set up in Ruian City in 2011.

Tangxia Town, subordinate to Ruian City, Zhejiang Province, is a pilot town for comprehensive reform of small towns in China. It is a strong town in education, sports and three-star civilized town in Wenzhou City. It is located in the southeast coast of Zhejiang Province, with a total area of 108.75 square kilometers (2017). It has 5 offices, 89 administrative villages and 328495 permanent residents (2017).
Tangxia town has a long history. During the Ming Dynasty, Jiajing belonged to the three capitals of Fanyou Township and the four capitals of Chongtai township. The town was called tangxiazhuang in ancient times; in 1931, it belonged to Tangxia town and Dingfeng Township respectively; in 1932, it was changed into township. After 1949, it was still called Tangxia town; in 1953, it was changed into an established town, which was called Tangxia management area in 1958; in 1964, it was changed into Tangxia people's commune; in 1984, it was restored to Tangxia town; in 1985, it was withdrawn from Tangxia town; in 1992, Sandu township was merged into Tangxia Town, which was adjusted according to the national administrative divisions.
During the period of the Republic of China, it was the residence of the Eastern District Office. From 1949 to 1992, it was the residence of Tangxia district office. Now it is the political, economic and cultural center of Tangxia district. Wenruitang river runs through the north and south of the town, 104 national highway runs through the west of the town, tangmei highway runs across the East and West, and the river network and roads are all over the town, so the traffic is convenient. Historically, agriculture was the main economy, and it was a famous high-yield grain production area in the city. However, the industrial base was weak, with only a few factories for processing agricultural and sideline products and making farm tools. Dozens of shops were scattered on the east side of a 700 meter long old street along the East Bank of the Wenruitang River. After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, under the guidance of the policy of reform and opening up, the economy has developed rapidly, and the home industry with plastic braided belt, machinery and other industries as the main products has risen. Leading comrades of the Central Committee and relevant provinces and cities frequently come to inspect and visit. After that, it gradually formed the township industrial group with the stock cooperative economy as the main body. In 1996, there were 2445 Township and village run enterprises, joint stock cooperative enterprises and private enterprises in the town, with an industrial output value of 1.753 billion yuan. Market trade is also developing rapidly. There are 100 mu automobile and motorcycle parts city and 11 markets for small commodities, agricultural and sideline products and non-staple food. Municipal financial, supply and marketing, finance and taxation, grain, industry, agriculture, posts and telecommunications, electric power, science and technology, education, public security and other departments have set up branches here. It is one of the 30 economically strong towns in Wenzhou.
The rapid development of economy promotes the urban construction. Since the 1980s, more than 4600 buildings have been built along the street; 180000 square meters of public housing have been built, including 10 primary and secondary schools, 3 kindergartens, 7 cinemas, 2 hospitals, and 1 revolutionary memorial hall in the old area; the old commercial street along the river has been reconstructed, with 13 East-West and North-South streets, with a total length of 13425 meters; 27 concrete roads, with a total length of 37763 meters, have been built, with 9.5 kilometers of new roads and 7 bridges 8, 2 wharves; 1 10000 t / D waterworks is expanded, with the water supply popularization rate of 95%; 42 public toilets and 1 substation are newly built; 1 LPG distribution station is built, with the gas use basically popularized; 24 km drainage pipeline is laid, and 1 garbage dump is built; all infrastructure facilities are gradually improved. In 2011, it was listed as 27 small cities in Zhejiang Province, enjoying the rights at the county level, and implementing strong towns to expand power, so as to better adapt to the development of Tangxia.

With superior geographical location and convenient transportation, it is more than 20 kilometers away from Wenzhou airport. National highway 104 and Ningbo Taizhou Wenzhou Expressway all pass through the territory.
