Houping Township
Houping Township, belonging to Chengkou County of Chongqing, is located in the southeast of Chengkou county. It borders on Dong'an Township in the East, Mingzhong Township in the south, Zhiping Township and Xiuqi town in the west, and Gaoguan town in the north. It is 47 kilometers away from the residence of Chengkou county government, with a total area of 147 square kilometers.
In the Qing Dynasty, Houping township was under the category of seven guarantees and eight first class; in 1984, Houping commune was changed into Houping township. By the end of 2018, the population of Huping Township registered residence was 7403. As of June 2020, Houping village has jurisdiction over seven administrative villages, and the Township People's government is stationed at No. 48, miaoping Road, miaoping village.
The main food crops in Houping township are potato and corn; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, cattle and sheep; the main industry is hydropower. History of construction
Houping township is named for its gentle terrain.
During the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the seven guarantees and eight Jia.
The first year of the Republic of China (1912), belongs to the Eastern District Caiziba Township regiment. In 1935, it belonged to the joint protection of Caiziba in the two districts; in 1940, it belonged to Xiucai township; in 1941, it belonged to Caimeng township; in 1947, it belonged to Zhiping Township in the two districts.
In 1952, it was a five District Township.
In 1953, Zhiping township was divided into Yangjiaba Township and Honghua township.
In 1954, Yangjiaba Township and Honghua Township were divided into Yangjiaba Township, Houping Township and Honghua township.
In 1956, Yangjiaba Township, Houping Township and Honghua Township were merged into Houping Township and Honghua township.
In 1958, Houping Township and Honghua Township were merged into Huaping commune.
In 1961, Huaping commune was divided into Honghua commune and Houping commune.
In 1984, Honghua commune and Houping commune were changed into Honghua Township and Houping Township respectively.
In 2001, Honghua township was merged into Houping township.
