Historical evolution

It has a long history and simple customs. From the Western Zhou Dynasty to the spring and Autumn period, Chengtou township was the capital of the ancient state of Xu.

At the beginning of 1956, Hongzehu forest and firewood farm of Huaiyin District was established. In 1969, it was changed into Chengtou forest and firewood farm, belonging to Sihong County. On June 8, 1996, with the approval of the provincial people's government, Chengtou township was established. In 1998, Chengtou township was named as one of the first batch of well-off towns by Suqian Municipal Party committee and municipal government. In 2003, the gross domestic product of the township was 250 million yuan, the per capita disposable income of farmers was 4100 yuan, and the fiscal revenue was 3.2 million yuan. The township won 17 commendations from provinces, cities and counties.
