Jingtou Township
Jingtou Township, a township under the jurisdiction of Suyu District, Suqian City, Jiangsu Province, is managed by Hubin new district. It is located in the southeast of Hubin New District and the middle of Suyu District, with an administrative area of 36 square kilometers. By the end of 2019, Jingtou township has jurisdiction over five residential communities, one administrative village and one Tanghu breeding farm, with a population of more than 20000. The township government is located in Jingtou community.
The name of Jingtou has a long history. The original Jingtou township is like Longtou, which is named Longtou. There is an ancient well beside the Maling mountains, which is also named jinglongtou. It is also said that Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty took his son on a tour to the south. When he was sick, he took the water from the well to take medicine to cure him, which was named jingertou, later referred to as Jingtou. In 1957, when the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, Jingtou township was composed of some villages in Jingtou, Gucheng, Baibao and other townships. In 1958, it became a commune. In 1959, it merged with Sucheng town and was called Bawang commune. In 1965, Jingtou commune was restored. In 1983, the township was changed. In 1996, it belongs to Sucheng district. In 2004, it belongs to Suyu District. In 2011, Jingtou township was built as a whole and entrusted to Hubin new area. Jingtou township has convenient transportation. Santaishan Avenue, 235 National Road and Jiangshan Avenue run through the territory. The canal of shipping river passes through in the south. The leading industry of Jingtou township is membrane materials, which is the national new membrane material industry base.
In 2017, Jingtou Township achieved industrial sales revenue of 3.5 billion yuan, general public budget revenue of 30 million yuan, and per capita net income of farmers of 20500 yuan. In December 2019, Jingtou township was selected as "civilized township of Jiangsu Province in 2016-2018".
History of construction
After liberation, it belonged to Jingtou township of Xiaodian District.
In 1957, when the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, Jingtou township was composed of some villages in Jingtou, Gucheng, Baibao and other townships.
In 1958, the people's commune, known as Jingtou people's commune.
In 1959, it merged with Sucheng town and was called Bawang people's commune.
In 1965, it was restored to Jingtou people's commune.
In 1983, the rural system was restored, known as Jingtou township.
In 1987, it belongs to Suqian City (county level).
In 1996, the prefecture level Suqian City was established, under the jurisdiction of Sucheng district.
In 2004, it belongs to Suyu District.
In 2011, Jingtou township was entrusted to Hubin new area.

In 1982, Jingtou commune governed 11 brigades, including Jingtou, xiaoluzhuang, Xiaodun, Dunwu, Gubei, Gucheng, Chengxi, Xingfu, Banyao, Zhabei and Zhabei. Later, the area to the south of the central canal was put under the jurisdiction of Sucheng town.
In 1983, the brigade was changed into a village.
In 1996, Jingtou Township governed 10 administrative villages, including zhadong, gaotan, Zhabei, Jingtou, Luzhuang, Dunwu, Xiaodun, Wanggou, Xinyao and Wulin.
In 2001, the village level administrative region was adjusted, and 10 administrative villages were abolished and integrated into 7.
In 2003, zhadong and gaotan administrative villages were separated out and incorporated into Shunhe town of Suyu County.
In 2004, yanghetan was separated from Zaohe town and incorporated into Jingtou township.
In 2006, four villages of Wanggou, Xinyao, Luzhuang and yanghetan in Jingtou Township were separated out and included in Xiaodian town; meanwhile, seven administrative villages of mallou, Mayao, Kexian, Xuzhuang, Jiuli, Anwei and Sanju in Xiaodian town were separated out and included in Jingtou township.
In 2007, Kexian and Miaozhuang were separated from Jingtou Township and incorporated into Xiaodian town.
In 2010, Sanju was separated from Jingtou Township and incorporated into Xiaodian town. So far, Jingtou Township governs 6 villages.

The origin of place names
The name of Jingtou has a long history. The rural terrain originates from the Maling mountains. It has been sinuous since Shandong, just like a giant dragon sticking its head into the canal to paddle in the water. Therefore, it is called "Longtou". In addition, there is a deep spring ancient well beside the mountain, also known as "well tap". It is said that Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty took his son on a tour to the south. When he passed by, he got sick and took the decoction from the well to cure him. He was specially named "jingertou", later referred to as "Jingtou".
