The first time to build a city
On October 10, 1911, after the Wuchang Uprising of the 1911 Revolution, more than 60 States and counties in Jiangsu Province responded and supported the Republic one after another. After the restoration of Taizhou, on November 7, the Huainan anti smuggling battalion was stationed in Dongtai, leading Liu Fengchao to plot to support troops and cause chaos. At that time, the people were in a state of panic. At this critical moment, Ding Litang, Prime Minister of Dongtai chamber of Commerce, and Wu Dengjia, right team officer, convinced the soldiers not to take part in the rebellion, thus smashing Liu Fengchao's plot to rob Dongtai City. On November 13, Dongtai announced its restoration and set up a civil affairs branch of Dongtai county. Yang Baoyin was appointed Minister of the branch. On November 24, Xu Baoshan, the military and political chief of Yangzhou military and political branch, came to Dongtai to call a meeting of local gentry and Dong, and announced the establishment of Dongtai County Civil Affairs Office, with Yang Baoyin as the civil affairs chief. In January 1912, Dongtai achieved local autonomy. The county was divided into 27 municipal and township autonomous regions ("city" was equal to "township" at that time, and they were all grass-roots administrative organizations). Taicheng was divided into three autonomous regions: Dongtai City (equivalent to the former dongtaichang), Heduo city (equivalent to the former heduochang), and Xixi township. Dongtai City began here. Dongtai City office is located in Dongtai Chengguan Yue Temple. By July 1927, the county's 27 municipal and township autonomous regions had been transformed into 27 municipal and township administrative bureaus. The municipal and township director system was abolished. In 1929, 27 administrative bureaus of Dongtai City and township were changed into 9 administrative districts, and district offices were established. Dongtai City was divided into the first district. The district office is located in Ningshu street and has jurisdiction over Dongtai City, Heduo City, Xixi Township and Haiyan city. Dongtai town cultural relics HD large picture 15
