Idioms and allusions
It comes from Zuo Qiuming's "Zuo Zhuan · the 33rd year of Duke Fu" in the pre Qin period: "then it's a bundle of Zai, a fierce army, and a hay horse. During the spring and Autumn period, the state of Qin sent Qizi, fengsun and yangsun to garrison the state of Zheng, but it was called helping the state of Zheng to guard its capital. In 628 BC, Qizi secretly reported to Duke mu of Qin that he had "taken charge of the northern gate", that is, he had the key to the northern gate of Zheng's capital. If Qin attacked Zheng, he would cooperate with him. When Qin Mu Gong received Qi Zi's secret report, he thought it was a good time. He did not listen to doctor Jian's advice and immediately sent three generals, Meng Ming, Xi Qishu and Bai Yibing, to attack Zheng. Uncle Jian's son also went out with the army. Uncle Jian cried to his son and said, "you will be resisted by the army in this place. Then I will collect your corpse." After a long journey, the Qin army finally came to the state of confusion, which was not far from the state of Zheng. It happened to be met by the merchants of Zheng who were doing business here. On the one hand, Xian Gao sent people to report to Zheng Mugong, on the other hand, he went to the Qin army and lied that he came to visit the Qin army on behalf of Zheng. Xiangao said, "our king knows that you are coming. He sent me a batch of livestock to reward you." The move of Xian Gao aroused the suspicion of attacking the army of Zheng and Qin, and made the state of Qin doubt that Zheng was ready, so it hesitated to March. When Zheng Mugong received the report from Xian Gao, he quickly sent people to the north gate of the capital to check. As expected, he saw that Qi Zi's army was in a state of internal combat, that is, everyone was tied up, weapons were polished and horses were fed. In response, Zheng Mu sent the prince to Qizi and said, "I'm sorry that I can't treat you well. Your Meng Ming is coming. Follow him Qi Zi and others fled to the state of Qi and the state of song when they saw that the matter had been exposed. When Meng Ming learned of the news, he also ordered his troops to withdraw.
