Life of the characters
Defeat Xixia
Qu Duan, whose name is Zhengfu, was born in Zhenrong (now Guyuan, Ningxia). His father, Qu Huan, once served as the head of the left class hall, and later died in battle. When Qu Duan was three years old, he was appointed to the third class by his father. He is quick to read, good at writing articles and full of military strategy. He successively served as general of Qinfeng road team, general of Tongan village in Jingyuan Road, and third general of Jingyuan road.
In the first year of Jingkang (1126), the Xixia army invaded Jingyuan Road, and Li Xiang was under the control of the commander-in-chief, and Qu Duan was also under dispatch. Li Xiang stationed his troops in Berlin fort. The soldiers who sent out reconnaissance and alert were not careful. They were raided by the Xia army, and the army broke up. Qu Duan tried his best to defeat the enemy and reorganize the army. Xia army invaded again, and Xi'an prefecture (now Xi'an township of Haiyuan in Ningxia) and Huaide Army (now huangduobao township of Guyuan in Ningxia) were occupied one after another. Zhenrong was in the key area of the enemy's way, and there was no garrison general. JINGLUE made Xigong envious of quduan's achievements in the battle of Berlin fort, and asked quduan to know Zhenrong's army and the commanding officer of JINGLUE department.
No orders
In December of the first year of Jianyan (1127), general Wanyan Loushi of the state of Jin attacked Shaanxi. In the first month of the second year of Jianyan (1128), he entered Chang'an, Fengxiang, Guan and long areas, which was extremely frightening. In February, the anti Jin volunteers gathered to attack the enemy, and the Jin army retreated from Gongzhou (now Longxi, Tongwei, Zhangxian, Wushan and Dingxi in Gansu Province) to the East. Qu Duan was in charge of the army in Jingyuan at that time. He recruited refugees and provided food to all the people who passed by, so he could not find anything. The Jin cavalry invaded the territory of Jingyuan, and the deputy general Wu Yao of quduan faction occupied Qingxiling, fought against the enemy and defeated the enemy. Taking advantage of the enemy's defeat, Qu Duan captured Qinzhou (now Tianshui in Gansu Province), and the righteous soldiers had recovered Chang'an and Fengxiang. Liu Xiliang, the commander, returned from Fengxiang, and Qu Duan executed him. In June, Qu Duan knew Yan'an Prefecture as a writer of Jiying hall.
Wang Shu was appointed as the leader of the LongTuge, and was in charge of commanding the army of the sixth route in Shaanxi. Qu Duan was appointed as the regiment training envoy of Jizhou, and was under the control of the control department. Qu Duan was very reluctant to be under the command of Wang Shu. In September, the Jin army attacked Shaanxi. Wang Shu called Qu Duan to join Yongzhou and Yaozhou. Qu Duan refused to accept the order. Wang Shu went to Longfang first with his army. Qu Duan claimed that he had already played up and asked to avoid. Xi Gong sent another commanding officer Pang Shicai and 30000 cavalry to join him. Wang Shu had nothing to do with Qu Duan, so he wrote to Xi Gong and ordered Qu Duan to return to his old post. He sent general he Shijun of Shaanxi control department to Yaozhou instead of Wang Zongyin to Baishui, and ordered yuan and Qingzhou to send troops as backup. Wang Shu and Xi Gong sent their own partisan generals Liu Shizhong and Kou Yujun to join him. Wang Shu thought of Yaozhou's supervision, and had set out to join Pang Shicai's troops to Yingzhou. Qu Duan regretted that he had not been called by Wang Shu in the middle of the journey. He wrote to Wang Shu and told him that he had arrived in front of the army, so Wang Shu stopped going to Yaozhou to supervise the war. He Shizhong despised the enemy's lack of vigilance, and suddenly met with the enemy in bagongyuan. He Shizhong died in the war. Liu Shizhong and the Kou Yujun retreated, and Qu Duan got the military power of Jingyuan road.
Be at odds with the common people
In November of the same year (1128), the Jin army detected the discord between Qu Duan and Wang Shu, and concentrated its forces to attack Bingyan. At that time, Qu Duan led all the elite troops of Jingyuan road and stationed in Chunhua. Wang Shu sent official documents every day to urge Qu Duan to move forward, and sent more than ten envoys and Jinshi to persuade Qu Duan, but Qu Duan didn't listen. Wang Shu knew that the matter was urgent, and sent his subordinate officer Yu Tao to supervise the master. Qu Duan agreed on the surface, but actually he didn't mean to move forward. Zhang Bin, a transit judge, is in charge of logistics supply with Qu Duanjun and asks about the date of Qu Duanjun's March. Qu duanxiao said to Zhang Bin, "look at the troops I led, who is better than Li Gang in rescuing Taiyuan?" Zhang Bin said, "your military strength is not as good as Li Gang's." Qu Duan said: "Li Gang summoned all the soldiers in the world and went there without restraint, so he failed. Now I have less than 10000 troops. If I fail, the cavalry of the Jin army will drive straight in and Shaanxi will be lost. I estimate the priority of the whole area of Shaanxi and all the way to Bingyan. Therefore, if we do not dare to act immediately, we should sweep the enemy's nest and attack the enemy's place where they will surely be saved. " So he sent Wu Li to attack Huazhou and pull it out. Qu Duan personally led his troops to give up Pucheng and not attack. He led his troops to the same officials in Yaozhou and joined Wu Xun in Xiangle from Sanshui in Yaozhou.
Jin army attacked Yan'an, Wang Shu collected scattered soldiers to rescue. Wang Xie, the Wenzhou observation envoy and zhifengxiang mansion, led the headquarters to start from Xingyuan and wait until Wang Shu arrived at Ganquan, but Yan'an was already lost. Wang Shu had no place to go, so the general delivered Wang Xie to lead more than 100 cavalry and officials to Xiangle to express his sympathy to the army. Wang Shu still treats Qu Duan as a moderator and intends to make him his deputy, which makes Qu Duan more dissatisfied. The order of quduan is always strict. Even the powerful people dare not run. When Wang Shu arrived, Qu Duan ordered that half of the cavalry of Wang Shu's followers should be cut off from each gate. When he arrived at the tent, only a few cavalry were left. Qu Duan still vacates the Chinese Army account for Wang Shu to live in. Wang Shu sits in the account. Qu Duan first comes to the court in his military uniform, and then goes to the account with Zhang Bin and zouma to meet Wang Shu. After a long time, Qu Duan asked Wang Shu about the loss of Yan'an and said, "surely temperance knows to cherish itself, but not the emperor's city?" Wang Shu said, "I have ordered you to disobey several times. Who is the one who cherishes himself?" Qu Duan said angrily, "in Yaozhou, I have stated my views on military affairs many times, but none of them have been adopted by you. Why is that?" So he got up and went back to his army account. Wang Shu stayed in quduan army and was in a panic all night.
Qu Duan wanted to kill Wang Shu in the army and annex his troops. So he came to ningzhou overnight to meet Xie Liang, the Fuyu envoy of Shaanxi Province, and said to him, "Yan'an is the throat of the five roads, which has been lost now. According to the spring and Autumn Annals, the doctors who sent troops abroad can act arbitrarily and ask to kill Wang Shu." Xie Liang said: "his position was ordered by the imperial court. Now he is killed as a minister without authorization. It's tyrannical and violent. If you want to do this, do it yourself." Qu Duan's intention was blocked and he returned to the army. The next day, Wang Shu met Qu Duan and said that he had made a review and asked for treatment. Qu Duan detains his officials, seizes his control and seals, so that Wang Shu can leave.
Wang Xie led the two armies in Qingyang, Qu Duan summoned him, Wang Xie ignored. When someone accused Wang Xie of robbing the people when he passed through Zhuozhou, Qu Duan was furious. He ordered Zhang Zhongfu, the commanding officer, to summon Wang Xie and say to Zhang Zhongfu, "if Wang Xie doesn't obey, kill him and come back." When Zhang Zhongfu arrived in Qingyang, Wang Xie had already left, so he sent troops to invite him to attack him. He couldn't catch up with him and stopped.
At the beginning, the traitor Shi bin besieged Xingyuan and led his troops back to Guanzhong. Zhang zonger, the commander of Yibing, lures Shi bin to Chang'an to disperse his troops and try to eliminate him slowly. Qu Duan sends Wu Li to attack and capture Shi bin. Qu Duan leads his troops to attack and kill Zhang zonger.
Zhang Jun guarantees
In September of the third year of Jianyan (1129), Qu Duan was promoted to Kangzhou defense envoy and Jingyuan road administration pacification envoy. Yan'an had just been conquered by the enemy. Qu Duan didn't want to leave Jingyuan, so he knew that Guo Hao of Jingzhou was in charge of the business of Bingyan road. After Xie Liang's return, the imperial court heard that Qu Duan wanted to kill Wang Shu, and suspected that he had the intention of mutiny, so it called Qu Duan back to the court to serve as imperial camp secretary. Qu Duan was suspicious and did not go. The critics threatened that Qu Duan was rebellious, and Qu Duan had no way to express himself. It coincided with Zhang junxuan's visit to Sichuan and Shaanxi and his resignation to the DPRK. With 100 members of his family as a guarantee, it showed that Qu Duan did not rebel. Zhang Jun recruited heroes. Because Qu Duan had fought with the enemy many times in Shaanxi, he planned to rely on his reputation. Zhang Jun built an altar according to the system, worshiping Qu Duan as a powerful general, Xuanzhou observation envoy, Xuanfu disposal envoy, and knowing Weizhou (now Pingliang, Gansu). Qu Duan went to the altar to receive worship, and the soldiers were excited.
Although Zhang Jun wanted to appoint Qu Duan, he didn't know Qu Duan's intention. He sent Zhang Bin to Weizhou to test him on the pretext of recruiting additional imperial guards. Seeing Qu Duan, Zhang Bin asked, "you often worry that all the troops can't concentrate and the money is not enough. Now that the troops have been concentrated and the money is ready, Wanyan Loushi has gone into our territory alone. It's not difficult for me to join all the troops to attack him. What should we do with him if he should concentrate his forces? " Qu Duan said: "it's not like this. The art of war first compares the situation between the enemy and us. Now the enemy can be defeated. Only Wanyan Loushi's lone army can be defeated. But the elite of the Jin army is no less than before. I can't win, and I can only concentrate the five Route Army, but the soldiers are no different from before. Moreover, the Jin army was trapped in me. I was always passive and the enemy was always active. Today, we should do the opposite. We should command the army to occupy important positions, and sometimes send deviant troops to disturb the harvest of the Jin army. If the enemy can't farm, he will certainly go to Hedong to seize grain. In this way, I will be on the initiative and the enemy will be on the passive side. In less than one or two years, the enemy will be in dire straits and will be annihilated at one stroke. In case of rash action, it will leave endless future trouble. " Zhang Bin reported Qu Duan's words, but Zhang Jun didn't adopt Qu Duan's opinions.
