He also liked calligraphy, and said, "no food, no paper, no pen; in his old age, the book was a little close to Lanting" (Ye Shi's epitaph of Xu Wenyuan). After that, he changed the Changtai order, and died before the official arrived.
Family background
Xu Ji's father Xu Ding, Xu Zhuangyuan of Anhai xucuo, Jinjiang, Quanzhou, Fujian Province, lived in Chaozhou. His family moved from Jinjiang to Yongjia and lived in Songtai. One of Weng Juan's poems, which is listed with Xu Ji as the "four spirits of Yongjia", is "to send Xu Ji to Longxi city in late autumn because he passed the old lane of QUANNAN." the poem says: "it's difficult for a famous craftsman to write elegant sentences in the poem. In a distant city, you are close to Wei Lu, but in a foreign country, you have passed the old Lu. The journey is full of chrysanthemums and the luggage is half full of books. If we do not believe in civilization, no one will recommend Zixu. " "QUANNAN Jiuli" in the title of the poem and "jiulu" in the poem point out that Xu Ji's hometown is Quanzhou (QUANNAN), and Xu Ji once returned to his former residence in xuzhuangyuan lane of Jinjiang when he was appointed as the county magistrate of Longxi.
Xu Ji also wrote a collection of Quanshan, which is Qingyuan mountain in the north of Quanzhou County. It can be seen that although Xu Ji sent his body outside, he still did not forget his ancestral home. Xu Ji got the post because of his father's "Zhi Shi en". He went up and down in prefectures and counties. He was honest and upright, abided by the law, and did many useful things for the people. In Jian'an (today's Jian'ou, Fujian), he appeased the people of Maxi cave and "punished three people"; he supervised the production of tribute tea and refused to take extra. When he moved to Yongzhou (now Hunan Province) to join the army, local officers and soldiers paid a lot of attention to civilians to collect taxes. Xu Ji found out one by one and released them.
He was the county magistrate of Longxi (now Zhangzhou, Fujian Province). He was rich and powerful in the village. After investigation, he restored his old view. The post tune Wudang (today's Hubei Yunxian East) order, changed the Changtai order, plans to go to the official from the leaf to swim, did not die, and "Yongjia four soul poem" collection Xu Ji poem two volumes, only saves one volume; also has "two Wei Ting collection", saves 164 poems. According to the complete works of Siku in Qing Dynasty, Xu Ji had Quanshan collection, which was lost at that time. Xu Ji also likes calligraphy, "without a pen and paper, the old book is a little closer to" Lanting. "
Yongjia Siling
In the poetic world of the Southern Song Dynasty, Xu Zhao, Xu Ji, Weng Juan and Zhao Shixiu are collectively known as the "four spirits of Yongjia". Wengjuan is from Yueqing County, Wenzhou, and the other three are from Yongjia County, Wenzhou. Wenzhou was called Yongjia County in ancient times, and Yongjia County in Song Dynasty was also the state government of Wenzhou. The four poets all had the word "Ling" in their names, and they had the same purport, the same creative ideas and the similar poetic style. They formed their own school, so they were called "Yongjia four Ling".
In the book of rites, it is said that "Lin, Feng, GUI and long are the four spirits." "The yellow picture of Sanfu" says: "Canglong, Baihu, Zhuque and Xuanwu are the four spirits of the heaven, and they are the four masters." The four poets are collectively known as "four spirits", and Gai Qiao uses his name to beautify his works.
literature
Xu Ji and his three fellow countrymen, Xu Zhao, Weng Juan and Zhao Shixiu, are also called "four spirits" and created the so-called "river and lake school". Xu Ji is no exception for his narrow theme, shallow poetry and even trivial style. Those who can recite the five rhythms are like Huang Bi: "Huang Bi is flat on the sand bank, and the willows in the pond are spring. Clear water knows good wine, thin mountains know poor people. Chicken dog Tian Jiajing. Mulberry and hemp are new. Meet the traveler. Half of them are from Yongjia. " Seven can be recited as "new cool": "water field domain, rice leaf Qi, sunlight through trees, dawn smoke low. The yellow warbler also loves the new cool, and flies over the green mountains to sing in the shadow. "
Xu Ji's Quanshan collection has been lost. One volume of Erwei Pavilion poetry is included in Jingxiang Lou series, and also included in Duhua Zhai edition of qunxianxiaoji of Southern Song Dynasty.
