Xu Zhicai is a famous doctor in ancient times. The ancestor Xu Xi was born in Danyang (now Dangtu, Anhui Province) of the Southern Dynasty, and was known as "Donghai Xu family". Xu Zhicai, the sixth son of Xu Xiong, is the grandson of Xu Wenbo. He recited filial piety at the age of five. At the age of 13, he was called to be a student of the Imperial College. Later, he was captured by the Northern Dynasty. He was an official of the Imperial College, and was appointed to the throne of Xiyang. According to historical records, "Wu Cheng was drunk and lusted excessively. He was in a trance. He had been ill. He saw five colored objects in the sky from the beginning of the cloud. He became a beautiful woman when he was a little closer. He went to the ground for a few feet, stood up in a pavilion, ate for a moment, and became Avalokitesvara." Xu Zhicai for his treatment, said: "this lust, caused by big empty." Xu Zhicai, a doctor of different generations in the northern and Southern Dynasties, was born into a family of doctors. His ancestor was Xu Xi. He was born in Danyang of the Southern Dynasties (the county government is now in xiaodanyang Town, Dangtu County, Anhui Province), and was known as the "Donghai Xu family". Xu Zhicai was a medical expert in Northern Qi Dynasty. The word is Shi Mao. Later, Emperor Wu Cheng got a strange disease. He always felt that he was in a trance and had many hallucinations. He was haunted by these hallucinations all day and was in great pain. After Xu Zhicai showed it to Emperor Wu Cheng, he said that the emperor's reason was "excessive lust and great emptiness". Xu Zhicai used some nourishing herbs. After taking these herbs, Wu chengdi's hallucination gradually disappeared. However, Emperor Wu Cheng's illness was caused by his addiction to wine and sex, so it often recurred. Every time he recurred, Emperor Wu Cheng had to call Xu Zhicai for treatment. After a period of treatment, his condition gradually stabilized. Xu Zhicai was sent to work in other places. Unexpectedly, Wu chengdi fell ill again. This time, Xu Zhicai rushed back to catch up with him, but he didn't have time to catch up. Wu chengdi died the day before he came back.

Xu Zhicai also has a deep education in pharmaceutics and obstetrics and gynecology. Xu Zhicai summarized the relationship between medicinal materials and diseases, which provided a good experience for future generations in drug use.
