Zhang dalie

Zhang Dali, also known as Zhang Chengjiang. He was born in Changjing town in 1911. After graduating from junior high school, he was admitted to the Department of Western painting of Shanghai Academy of fine arts. He studied in France in 1929. He entered the national Paris Academy of fine arts and studied sculpture.

Profile

In 1931, inspired by He Xiangning, a revolutionary in France, Zhang Dali was concerned about the fate of the motherland. Before returning home, He Xiangning painted plum blossom and tiger as a gift. In October 1936, Zhang dalie, who was educated, took his wife Si Ailin (polish) to the Soviet Union and returned to Changjing, where he devoted himself to the education of his hometown. In the winter of 1937, Jiangyin was occupied, and the school buildings of Changjing junior high school were destroyed. Zhang donated and sold the land to repair the school buildings, which enabled the school to resume classes. In 1939, he became the principal of Changjing middle school. The puppet regime used the payment of education subsidies as a bait to ask him to set up Japanese classes, but he refused. In June 1940, Tan Zhenlin, commander of the "Jiang Kang" East Road command, led his troops to open up the chengxiyu Anti Japanese base and invited him to contribute to the Anti Japanese and national salvation. Zhang said that he was willing to go through fire and water. He repeatedly denounced the Kuomintang diehards who were passive in resisting Japan and keen on friction at primary and secondary schools and mass gatherings, and was hated by Bao Hansheng, special commissioner of Cheng Xiyu, the "loyal Salvation Army". On the evening of August 30, he was shot dead in Longyuan tea shop of Changjing town by "assassins" sent by Baosuo. Tan Zhenlin held a grand memorial service for him.

Former Residence

In September 1992, Zhang Dali's former residence was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangyin City, and in August 2002, it was listed as a patriotic education base of Jiangyin City. In 2006, Changjing town government carried out protective repair. There is an exhibition of Zhang dalie's life in his former residence.
