Zhang Hua
Zhang Hua (October 1958 - July 11, 1982) < / I >, male, Han nationality, from Hulin, Heilongjiang Province, CPC member, revolutionary martyr, former student of the second brigade of the Fourth Military Medical University.
In October 1958, he was born into a revolutionary military family in Heilongjiang Province; in 1977, he joined the air force of Shenyang Military Region; in August 1979, he was admitted to the Air Force Medical Department of the Fourth Military Medical University with excellent results.
In 2009, he was elected as "100 people who have moved China since the founding of the people's Republic of China"; on September 25, 2019, he was selected into the personal list of "most beautiful fighters".
Life of the characters
In October 1958, he was born in a family of revolutionary soldiers in Heilongjiang Province. As a child, he was educated and influenced by the brilliant deeds of revolutionary martyrs and Lei Feng. When he was in primary and secondary schools, he attended the county and prefecture level activists' congresses.
After graduating from high school, Zhang Hua went to the countryside, came to Raohe "May 7th University" farm, and was selected as the head of the educated youth. During more than one year of working in Raohe farm, he attended the Raohe County Congress of the Communist Youth League, the Raohe county labor model Congress and the advanced knowledge Youth Congress.
In 1977, he joined the air force of Shenyang Military Region.
In 1977 and 1978, the army recommended Zhang Hua to take the college entrance examination, but he was not admitted.
In August 1979, he was admitted to the Air Force Medical Department of the Fourth Military Medical University with excellent results, and joined the party on August 25, 1979. Most of the 25 examinations in the three years of school scored above 80 points, and the best mathematics score reached 97 points. It is known as "a good soldier in the military camp and a good student in the campus".
On July 11, 1982, Wei Zhide, a 69 year old man who took out excrement from the dung tank, died in honor. He was only 24 years old.

Save the fire bravely
One day in 1976, a sudden fire swept away towards the forest not far away. Zhang Hua, who was the Secretary of the farm regiment, led the students to cut with knives, pull with hands, and smoke with branches, trying to open up a fire escape. However, due to the strong wind and fire, it is more difficult to open a fire lane. All of a sudden, Zhang Hua had an idea. Without saying a word, he fell down and rolled up in the withered grass. As a result, we followed his example and rolled to the withered grass and thorns, soon forming a fire lane. When the fire spread to the flattened withered grass, it couldn't be fully burned, so it became weak all of a sudden. Everyone took the opportunity to fight it, and finally put out the fire.
Good people, good things
When Zhang Hua worked on the farm, he often led people to help the families of Liejun and the widowed old people do well, and used his saved money and food stamps to help the temporary workers who were living in difficulties. Regardless of his personal safety, he tried his best to grab the frightened cow and save a young woman who was about to be trampled by the frightened cow; he once stood forward and shouldered the falling log, so that the five young people who were working could get out of danger safely.
During the summer vacation in 1980, Zhang Hua drove back to his hometown in Northeast China. A pregnant woman returned to the south to give birth to a child. Unexpectedly, she gave birth prematurely on the journey, so she had to back to her work unit. The puerpera was weak and had a long way to go home. She had no relatives and was so anxious that she burst into tears. Zhang Hua saw it and took the initiative to take care of it. After getting off the bus, he took the mother and the baby to his aunt's home and tried to get in touch with her husband before boarding the bus to go north.
In the summer vacation of 1981, Zhang Hua returned to his hometown and was caught in a rare flood for many years. His family lived in a vast ocean, and the house was soaked in more than two meters of flood water. Zhang Hua didn't care about his home. Wearing only a pair of shorts, he jumped into the water to help the residents move. He helped four families of workers out of danger. He also helped them salvage the wooden boxes, cabinets and timber washed away by the flood.
Saving lives bravely
At about 9 a.m. on July 11, 1982, Zhang Hua came to the west side of the north entrance of Kangfu road in Xi'an, carrying a bag with a camera and nylon shirts and shirts for his younger sister and brother. He asked the tailor who set up a stall here to help him modify a shirt. Suddenly, from the east side of the road came a anxious and urgent cry: "help! The old man who dug out the dung fell into the cesspool It turned out that Wei Zhide, a 69 year old member of Xinzhu commune in Baqiao District, was fumigated by biogas and fell into the dung water while dredging the dung road.
When Zhang Hua heard the cry for help, he immediately threw down his satchel, like an arrow from the string, crossed the road more than ten meters wide and ran to the side of the cesspool. This is a half room closed underground cesspool, with a two foot square fecal outlet exposed to the ground. On a dog's day when the temperature has reached 367 degrees, it is hard for people to get close to it. Zhang Huafei quickly took off his military coat and cap, stepped on the entrance of the cesspool, followed the bamboo ladder, and quickly and firmly went down to the cesspool more than 3 meters deep in the face of the suffocating odor.
People at the edge of the pool watched Zhang Hua hold the ladder tightly, lean over, stretch out his right arm, pull the comatose old man from the dung water one meter away, bend over and hold him up, try to straighten his waist, and shout in a loud voice: "people are still alive, let go of the rope!" people at the edge of the pool rushed to find the rope and escalator, ready to save people. I didn't expect that at this critical moment, Zhang Hua was also fumigated by the strong and choking biogas in the cesspool. Just listen to "plop", Zhang Hua and the old man fell into the dung water together.
With the help of Liu Yuqing, Wang Shaojun, Li Zhengxue, Wang Boyi and many other people, Zhang Hua and the old man were rescued. People washed Zhang Hua's face with water, but he was unconscious. People use the fastest speed to carry Zhang Hua to the ambulance and send him to the hospital emergency room. However, artificial respiration, injection of cardiotonic needle, removal of foreign bodies in respiratory tract, oxygen supply, and direct heart massage through thoracotomy all failed to save Zhang Hua's young life.
Honors
When Zhang Hua was studying in primary and middle schools, he was rated as a "three good" student for consecutive years and a model soldier for four times. During more than one year of working in Raohe farm, he was rated as a labor model and outstanding communist youth league cadre.
After Zhang Hua's death, the Central Military Commission awarded him the honorary title of "excellent college student full of ideals and courage to sacrifice", and called on the whole army to take him as an example and strive to become a revolutionary soldier with "ideals, morality, culture and discipline"; the Fourth Military Medical University recalled Zhang Hua's first-class merit and recognized him as a revolutionary martyr.
On June 7, 1983, in the government work report of the first session of the Sixth National People's Congress, martyr Zhang Hua was praised as one of the top ten models in China. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the people's Republic of China in 2009, Zhang Hua was elected "100 people who have moved China since the founding of the people's Republic of China" by a high vote.
On September 25, 2019, Zhang Hua was selected into the personal list of "the most beautiful fighters".

After Zhang Hua's death, his deeds were publicized by newspapers and radio stations, which aroused strong repercussions. The Ministry of education, the Ministry of health, the General Logistics Department of the Chinese people's Liberation Army, the all China Federation of students, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Inner Mongolia and Heilongjiang respectively issued notices, decisions and calls to learn from martyr Zhang Hua.
Memorial to martyr Zhang Hua
In May 1984, the Fourth Military Medical University built a monument at the site where Zhang Hua died. In July 2014, for the widening and reconstruction of Kangfu road and the North-South connection of Jingjiu Road, the original stele was moved to the campus for display.
On the morning of January 1, 2016, the completion ceremony of the new monument of martyr Zhang Hua was held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. Li Wei, Vice Minister of the Propaganda Department of Shaanxi provincial Party committee, Shan Shuping, deputy secretary of the Communist Youth League provincial Party committee, Zhang Shitao, President of the fourth Medical University, and Ji Zhihong, political commissar of the fourth Medical University, jointly unveiled the monument to martyr Zhang Hua. After the death of martyr Zhang Hua, the "Zhang Hua class" named after him in the Fourth Military Medical University has continued to this day. The school specially arranges a special "Zhang Hua shop" in the dormitory of each "Zhang Hua class", which becomes the spiritual power to encourage students to study hard.
