Chumo, a poet monk at the end of Tang Dynasty, was born around Wenzong period of Tang Dynasty and died around 874. He was born in Jinhua, Wuzhou (now Jinhua, Zhejiang).
He became a monk in a temple in Lanxi. He was close to the monk Guanxiu of Anguo temple and often wrote poems in return. He once traveled to Hangzhou, Runzhou and other places, lived with Ruoxu in Lushan, and then lived in Jiuhua Mountain. Later, he entered Chang'an and lived in Ci'en Temple. He became friends with Luo Yin and Zheng Gu. He died at the end of Tang Dynasty and the beginning of Liang Dynasty. Chongwen Zongmu and Yiwenzhi, the history of Song Dynasty, recorded one volume of his poetry collection, which does not exist today. There are eight poems in the book of complete Tang poetry. His deeds can be seen in volume 3 of biography of Tang talented scholars and preface to the collection of Zen moon by Tanyu. [
