Wu Bingji, named kuizhen, was born in the East Chamber of Ding'an in Ming Dynasty.
Wang Guoxue, a wealthy man in the Nanlei area (now Lingkou town), was a clever and studious boy. He was married to his daughter and prepared a lot of valuable dowries for him. He divided the dowry among his seven sisters. After passing the imperial examination in 1591, Wanli Xinmao went to Beijing to study for three years under Tang Xianzu, a famous dramatist of the Ming Dynasty. His knowledge improved greatly, and he was selected to be the magistrate of Yongxing County. When he was in office, he was diligent. When he had leisure, he talked with others, wrote poems and Fu. After leaving home, he taught in the county school and cultivated many talents. There are poems handed down from generation to generation.
