Gao Xuanfeng, whose name is Zhiying, is a native of Daping village, xinkangli, Anxi County. He was born in erzhangli, Taipei in 1856. In 1886, he was admitted as the second scholar of Taipei government school.
Personal life after choosing a leading scholar, he was dissatisfied with himself and continued to study. He was determined to win the prize and become a Jinshi. His academic performance is at the top of Yuping Academy. twenty years later, the Sino Japanese "Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895" took place. The Qing government ordered Liu Yongfu, general of black flag and commander in chief of Nan'ao town in Guangdong Province, to strengthen defense in Taiwan. Xuanfeng is knowledgeable and highly valued by all previous governors. After being defeated in the Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895, Chen Wen, the governor of Taipei, immediately summoned Xuan Feng and entrusted him with the task of organizing the 27th village regiment training for the defense. On April 14, 21, the "Treaty of Shimonoseki" between China and Japan was negotiated, and Taiwan ceded Japan. After hearing the news, the people of Taiwan wept bitterly. Xuan Feng and the local sages of Taiwan wrote to the Qing government. Please stop the proposal of ceding Taiwan. On April 21, I learned that the peace treaty had been signed and that ceding Taiwan was a foregone conclusion. Xuanfeng, together with Qiu Fengjia, the head of the Ministry of work, and Lin Chaodong, the alternate Taoist priest, jointly telegraphed to the imperial court. The message was: "the people of Taiwan are not loyal to Japan. They are willing to serve the island country and forever wear the Holy Spirit." On the same day, Premier Feidian's national affairs yamen, Nanyang minister, governor of Fujian and Zhejiang, and Fujian's political emissary sent a telegram: "to those who are respectful, Taiwan belongs to Japan, and all the people will not accept it! I asked Tang Fu Yuan to play on behalf of the people in Taiwan, but things are hard to recover, such as the loss of my parents, which is extremely tragic! Fucha Taiwan was abandoned by the imperial court, and the people had no choice but to stick to it. It was an island state, and the emperor's spirit was worn away to shield Nanyang. However, it was necessary for someone to take charge of the affairs of Taiwan and Liu Yongfu to guard Tainan. Please find out what Taiwan should do when the ceded gentry and people disobey the public law, and then send Tang Fu to Beijing and Liu Zhen back to office. In this way, the Taiwanese people can't love Dai Huangqing in order to stick to it and wait for a turn for the better. The situation is very tight, and I'll call it an electric performance. " A few days later, the premier's national affairs office called back to the effect that the peace treaty had been signed, which was forced by the situation and "reluctantly obeyed the agreement". There was a lot of discussion. Chen Jiyan, an alternate Taoist from Min County, put forward the idea of establishing a democratic state temporarily, and unanimously elected Tang Jingsong, governor of Taiwan, as "President of the democratic state of Taiwan.". On the 6th of May, the Japanese fleet arrived in the Taiwan Strait and 5000 Japanese troops landed in Taiwan. After three years of indomitable struggle, the volunteers failed. By means of inducement, the Japanese authorities visited Xuanfeng and offered "the most favorable" terms. As long as Xuan Feng agrees to assume the official post appointed by Taiwan's governor's office, governor Huashan Ziji will give him his hands with the license of monopoly of opium, tobacco and alcohol in Taiwan. Xuan Feng flatly refused, and immediately made a firm decision not to spend one day with the Japanese aggressors. In the past 24 years, he resolutely gave up his industry in Taiwan and went to Taiwan with his family. He lives in Xiamen. In 1902, Xuanfeng took part in the Fujian provincial examination, ranking 23rd in the Chinese style. In the 29th year, Jin Jing tried to leave his younger brother and returned to Xiamen to teach him. In the early years of the Republic of China, Xuan Feng was elected as a member of Fujian Province. The province wanted to appoint him as the governor of Anxi County, but he refused. We should cultivate talents, give lectures and apprentices, and organize local public welfare undertakings. After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese War, he moved back to his hometown in Daping. In 1944, Xuan Feng died of illness in Daping.
