Life of the characters
After the failure of the reform, the voice of "saving the country through education" and "saving the country through industry" still reverberated in China. When Liu Jingxi returned to Ganzhou, he saw the prevalence of old school and the decline of people's livelihood. He thought that if education was not promoted, the country would not be strong and foreign aggression could not be resisted. In 1901, with the support of Zhang Zhirui, the magistrate of Ganxian County, the county Ailian Academy was changed into Ganxian ordinary primary school. The next year, the Fu Li Yangming Academy was changed into Ganzhou Fu middle school. In the same year, with Liu Xinyuan, the inspector, the Dao Li Lianxi Academy was changed into Qiannan Normal School (now Ganzhou No.1 Middle School). Liu Jingxi not only attached great importance to the establishment of new schools, but also made great achievements in the history of Ganzhou education. At the same time, he also paid great attention to the industry and made great efforts. First, he raised funds to mine copper in the outskirts of Ganzhou and made considerable profits. In February 1904, the General Administration of agriculture, industry, commerce and mining of Jiangxi Province was set up in Jiangxi Province. Xia Shi, governor of Jiangxi Province, regarded Liu Jingxi as a talented man and appointed him as assistant director of the general administration. In the same year, he, together with Chen Sanli and Hu fazhu, initiated the joint establishment of Jiangxi machine paper company by government and business, and raised a total of 420000 yuan. In the 33rd year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu, Jiangxi General Chamber of Commerce was established, and he was elected prime minister. In March 1908, Li youfen, the Prime Minister of Jiangxi railway company, was killed in Poyang Lake. The company, its shareholder Zhu Yifan and other 92 people sent Chen Sanli as honorary prime minister, Liu Qi as presiding prime minister, and Liu Jingxi as sitting prime minister (equivalent to managing president). Later, because Liu Qi resigned due to illness, Liu Jingxi decided to take over the post of prime minister In May 1911, the 240 km long Nanxun railway was officially built with a length of 106 km, and the completed section was successfully opened to traffic. During this period, Liu Jingxi joined the alliance and became the main member of Ganzhou branch of the alliance. In the same year, he and Zhang Zhouyuan, another main member of the alliance, founded Gan Bao, the bourgeois democratic revolutionary thought. In 1912, Liu Jingxi's father died of illness. He resigned as prime minister in the death of his father and returned to his hometown. After returning to his hometown, Liu Jingxi lived in seclusion in Huanghua lane, his hometown. He built a living room near the river and inscribed the word "Meng Ou" on the gate tower, which means to retire. In 1917, Liu Jingxi died at the age of 60. He wrote five volumes of Yingxi anthology and one volume of Shiji, which spread to later generations.
