On the afternoon of April 24, 2016 Beijing time, Xu Chen / Ma Jin won Zheng Sihua / Chen dawn in two straight sets in the mixed doubles competition, winning the first championship of the final season of China Badminton Masters.
On November 15, 2016, Ma Jin announced his retirement on Weibo.
Early experience
Ma Jin began to practice badminton at the age of 8 and entered Jiangsu Sports School at the age of 12. But after only half a year of practice, the school gave her up. At the same time, Xing Rui, the coach of Jinan sports school, came to Jiangsu Province to select talents, fell in love with Ma Jin, and took her to Jinan team. In Jinan team, Ma Jin is outstanding. After two years of training with the team, he was selected into the Chinese national badminton youth team.
Sports career
In 2005, Ma Jin, who had been in the national youth team for two years, was finally promoted. As a temporary player of the second national team, he went abroad to participate in the Asian Badminton Championship for the first time. Here, Ma Jin was scolded by the coach every day because she often failed to meet the requirements of the coach and made mistakes from time to time. After the game, she was arranged to return to the youth team for training. All kinds of frustrations made her feel confused about her future. She once thought that if she could not enter the second team, she would go to school. However, she didn't expect much, but in December she received notice and was officially selected into the national second team.
During the second national team, he represented China in the 2006 World Youth Badminton Championships and won the women's Doubles Championship (with Wang Xiaoli) and the runner up of mixed teams. After the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, he was promoted to the first national team.
In 2008, after the Beijing Olympic Games, Ma Jin, who had just been promoted to the national first team, replaced retired Gao Gu and became the new mixed doubles partner of veteran Zheng Bo. The new pair played in the China open in November for the first time. Before the competition, Ma Jin and Zheng Bo practiced together only two or three times, but they did not hinder their excellent performance on the field. In the two super series, China open and Hong Kong open, held at the end of the year, Zheng / MA were able to reach the top four, only defeated by teammates Xu Chen / Zhao Yunlei and Zhang Yawen / Xie Zhongbo respectively, without losing to any foreign players.
2009 is a good year for Ma Jin. In mixed doubles, she and veteran Zheng Bo's new and old combination are getting better and better. She not only won the first Super Series championship in the Swiss open in, but also won the Singapore super series, Indonesia super series and Malaysia Gold Grand Prix, runner up in the German open and China open, and made it into the top four in the all British Open. In addition, she also joined the team Newcomers Tao Jiaming and Zhang Nan won the bronze medal in the Asian Badminton Championships and the silver medal in the East Asian Games.
In women's doubles, she and Wang Xiaoli have also made great achievements. They won the Indian open, the Japanese open, the French Open, the Hong Kong open, the Asian Badminton Championships and the Malaysian Gold Grand Prix in the year. They also won the bronze medal in the World Badminton Championship held in India in the middle of the year. For the first time, they ranked first in the World Badminton Federation in the 48th week of 2009 A bit. In addition, Ma Jin, who was promoted to the national first team for only half a year, was selected into the sudyman cup and was sent to play in mixed doubles. In the end, the Chinese team won the championship successfully, giving her her her first world championship title.
In 2010, Ma Jin and Zheng Bo's mixed doubles world ranking once rose to the first place in the third week; however, Zheng Bo was later transferred back to the provincial team by the coach due to discipline problems. During Zheng Bo's departure, Ma Jin focused on women's doubles and won the championship of German open and the runner up of Malaysian Super Championship. However, at the critical moment of the final of the Uber Cup in May, her combination with Wang Xiaoli failed to rival South Korea's opponent, which indirectly led to the loss of China's consecutive Uber Cup. Facing the low point of his career, Zheng Bo, who has worked together for two years, was allowed to return to the team by the coach at this time. Because his partner received the order that "only when he won the championship can he return to the national team", they were under unprecedented pressure in this world Championship. Even so, Zheng / MA was able to return to the standard in time, and successively eliminated such seeded players as shuge prapakamo / sarali sangsongkam, Nova vidianto / Liliana Nasir and Gao Chengxuan / he Zhenen to reach the final. In the final, Zheng / MA defeated his teammate he Hanbin / Yu Yang in two straight sets, 21:14 and 21:10, helping China win the mixed doubles championship for the first time since 2001 The army. In addition, Ma Jin joined Wang Xiaoli in the women's doubles final at the same world championships as the number one seed, and finally lost to his teammate and Olympic gold medalist Du Jing / Yu Yang, failing to realize the dream of double championship at the world championships.
After the world championships, the Chinese team reorganized the doubles team to prepare for the 2012 Olympic Games. The coach changed Ma Jin's former partner Wang Xiaoli to form a "strong alliance" with Yu Yang, while she changed to cooperate with Cheng Shu. In mixed doubles, the coach arranged he Hanbin to be her new partner. In November of the same year, Ma Jin represented China in Guangzhou Asian Games and won one gold and one bronze in mixed doubles (with he Hanbin) and women's team events of badminton competition.
In 2011, Ma Jin and his new partner made a good start. In January, he won the mixed doubles title with he Hanbin and the women's doubles semi-finals with Cheng Shu. After that, her mixed doubles partner was replaced by Xu Chen, who won the championship in the all England Badminton Open in March, and then the runner up in the Asian badminton championship. In May, Ma Jin was selected into the national team of Sudiman cup for the second time, and eventually helped China defend its title. In August, Ma Jin / Xu Chen played as the No.6 seed in the mixed doubles match of the world championships and successfully reached the semi-finals. Unfortunately, he sprained his ankle in the second set and was forced to withdraw from the match, so he was not able to defend his title.
In 2012, in the mixed doubles competition of badminton in London Olympic Games, Ma Jin and Xu Chen teamed up and successfully entered the final. In the end, they lost to team mate Zhang Nan / Zhao Yunlei and won the second place of mixed doubles in 2012 London Olympic Games.
On the afternoon of April 24, 2016, Beijing time, the final of China Badminton Masters started. In the mixed doubles competition, Xu Chen / Ma Jin won Zheng Sihua / Chen dawn in two straight sets and won the first championship of the season.
On August 17, 2016, Xu Chen / Ma Jin lost to his teammates Zhang Nan / Zhao Yunlei in the mixed doubles bronze medal competition at the Rio Olympics in Brazil, and won the fourth place.
