It has jurisdiction over the whole territory of Chiayi County, Chiayi City, Tainan County and Kaohsiung County in southern Taiwan. With an area of 4500 square kilometers, it was also the place where the Han people concentrated during the Qing Dynasty.
Tao Shaojing, an official of the Qing Dynasty, was born in Jiangsu, China.
