Qin Shusheng
Qin Shusheng (1861-1926) was born in a farming family in Ledao village, South Township, Gushi County, Henan Province. He was a Jinshi of two middle schools.
Character experience
Qin Shusheng is a famous calligrapher in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. His ink is included in the calligraphy of the Republic of China, which is also collected in the summer palace in Beijing. In 1886, he was a Jinshi, the head of the Ministry of government and industry, and soon became the chief editor of the geographic Junji Atlas of the drawing office of Huidian library. He was the rank doctor of the later Jin Dynasty and the biographer of the Ministry of foreign affairs. In the 29th year of Guangxu (1903), he became a Jinshi in the economic science of the middle school. Later, he served as the magistrate of Qujing, the governor of Yunnan, the Tifa envoy of Yunnan, and the Tifa envoy of Guangdong. Since the revolution of 1911, Qin Shusheng stayed away from Shanghai. In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the Nationalist government decided to appoint him as an envoy to study in Henan Province. Qin Shusheng refused and moved to Beijing. There are many anecdotes about him in his hometown. He is the only one who first introduced two printing presses in China. One was handed over to the Commercial Press, and the other was given away to his hometown Gushi.

Former Residence
Qin Shusheng's former residence is located in Ledao village, duanji Town, Gushi County, Henan Province. It covers an area of more than 6000 square meters. It used to be a courtyard with four entrances and four courtyards. There are 28 halls on the lower two floors and 7 rooms on the west side. The building is made of green brick, grey tile and wood frame structure. The corridor edge is made of stone columns, and the wood components above the corridor are carved with patterns There is an old well to the east of the backyard. At the same time, Jiulong village, Zhaogang Township, 20 kilometers south of Gushi County, also has qinjiabeiwei, where Qin Shusheng once lived.
