works
Just after the rain in Xing'an
you can't see the city when you enter the mountain, and you can't see the mountain when you enter the city.
There are flying wings from time to time.
The morning and the white clouds come out, the evening and the white clouds return.
The city is like a mountain forest. It's better to cover the pass before you faint.
Appreciative Remarks
Xing'an County (today's Hengfeng) was established in 1560, the 39th year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty, and belongs to Guangxin government. This poem is not far from the time when the poet was in charge of Guangxin government. Xing'an city is built close to the mountains. The mountains are not high, the trees are luxuriant, the city is very small, and the dwellings are comfortable. As a folk saying goes, "in xiaohengfeng County, there are three bean curd shops, and the county government plays boards. You can hear them outside the city." What the poet wrote in his poems after the rain is exactly the scenery of a small town where the city can't be seen after entering the mountain and the mountain can't be seen after entering the city.
notes
① Xing'an: the name of the county, which is now Hengfeng County, is derived from the mountain Cen. The Qin and Han dynasties belong to Yuhan County, and the Sui and Tang dynasties belong to Yiyang County. In the 39th year of Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty, Yiyang and Shangrao counties were divided into two counties, named Xing'an, which means "those who can prosper and be safe", implying the meaning of "prospering and being safe". Because of the same name with Xing'an County in Guangxi, it was renamed Hengfeng County in 1914, which is still in use today. two wings: birds. not faint: not yet dusk. Shut the door: shut the door.
