Wang Shang
Wang Zhi was born in Meizhou (now Meishan City, Sichuan Province) in the Southern Song Dynasty. His birth and death date is unknown. He was the father of Wang Cheng, a historian. He once served as an official in the compilation of records.
In the 12-13 years (1142-1143) of Shaoxing, Zhao Gou, Emperor Gaozong of Song Dynasty, was an official. He was upright and upright. He told the truth and recorded it truthfully, never against his heart. He loved history and did a lot of data collection and long draft work on the history of the Northern Song Dynasty, preparing to write the history of the Northern Song Dynasty. After his death, his son Wang said that he was also very interested in the history of the Northern Song Dynasty, so he followed his father's will and devoted himself to historiography. Wang said that he collected the deeds of the nine dynasties of the Northern Song Dynasty, sorted them out and arranged them into 130 volumes of "Dongdu shilue". Wang Shizhen of the Qing Dynasty believed that Dongdu shilue, like Shiji and Hanshu, was written by father and son in succession. Wang Shizhen's view is well founded. There is a saying in Wang's Zhimi GE's complaint that "he can conquer the first records, discuss the second old news, and compile them on the basis of (P ó U: gathering)". From the sentence "Ke Shao Xian Zhi", it is possible that Wang Shang had already done some data collection and long draft work, while Wang Chengzi continued to compile the book after his father's Zhi. Wang Shang was able to collect historical data of the Northern Song Dynasty and the nine dynasties.
