Wu Hanying (1905-1932) is a native of lijiazhai, Shihe District, Xinyang City, Henan Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in July 1926 and served as secretary of the Gushan branch of the Communist Party of China.
On August 15, 1927, Wu Hanying led more than 300 peasants in Danggu mountain to destroy the tax card of the Lijin Bureau of Jiuli pass, captured the director alive, and seized nine long and short guns, one war horse and part of the money and grain. In 1928, Wu Hanying joined the Red Army and made many achievements. In 1931, he was appointed political commissar of the 68th regiment of the red 12th division. In February of the same year, he led his troops back to Danggu mountain, destroyed the homes of Zhou Huanqing and Huang sanshao, the big landlords, and executed Wu Ziming, the leader of the militia, and Peng Qiyun, the executioner. The next day, he led his troops to attack the garrison at lijiazhai and Liulin stations, causing heavy damage to the enemy. After that, Wu Hanying led his troops to fight in Hubei, Henan and Anhui. In 1932, Wu Hanying was wrongly killed in the enlarged Anti Japanese war in the Hubei Henan Anhui base area.
