Wang Tong (1930-2010) was born in Bengbu City. He graduated from the medical department of Anhui Medical College in 1955. He has been teaching in Physiology Department of Anhui Medical College and Wannan Medical College. He is Professor of Department of physiology, director of Institute of Geriatrics, Wannan Medical College, deputy editor in chief of Journal of Wannan Medical College, editorial board member of Chinese Journal of Gerontology, director of 17th and 18th session of Chinese Physiological Society, director of Anhui Physiological Society, and member of basic theory Committee of China Society of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine.

In 1985, he presided over the compilation of "Anhui Province medical and health science and technology development plan (1986-2000)", and in 1993, he presided over the national climbing plan jl93022 research project. There are 6 monographs and 116 papers. He won the first prize at the ministerial level once, the second prize at the provincial level once, the third prize once and the fourth prize three times. The scientific research achievements are recorded in the complete collection of China's technological achievements. He is a national expert with outstanding contribution.
