He is a calligrapher of Qing Dynasty. When he was 18 years old, he tried to be a boy, but he was not in the first place. Qianlong seventeen years (1752) in Jinshi, changed to Hanlin academy Shuji Shi, after the museum to Zhili Huairou County Magistrate. At that time, Huairou was a small county in a mountainous city, and successive officials failed to establish official schools. After Ting LAN took office, he first advanced 300 liang of salary, and then recruited the old gentry to be the chief. After five months, the official school was finally completed. Later, he successively served as the magistrate of Wanping, the magistrate of shuntianfu, the magistrate of Xianxian, the magistrate of Tongzhou, etc., and was famous for his "honesty and ability". Later, he was implicated in a friend's accident and was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment. On the day of his imprisonment, Ting LAN chanted daily and wrote for his own amusement. Although he was "burning in the inner world", he still expressed his "peaceful, elegant and upright attitude". When he returned home, he began to devote himself to learning at 63 and was employed as the principal of Ruizhou Academy. He once printed Taiping Huanyu Ji and compiled Nanchang Fu Zhi.
