Personal career
He has been engaged in burn medicine for more than 40 years. In 1958, he assisted Academician Li Ao to establish the burn department. He has presided over more than 30 scientific research projects, won 19 second-class or above awards for military scientific and technological progress, published more than 450 papers, and edited 38 monographs. He is one of the most outstanding scholars in burn research and most books on burn in China. In 1970, burn therapeutics won the national science and Technology Conference award and the first prize of military science and technology progress. In the 1970s, he took the lead in summarizing the experience of post burn acute dyspnea syndrome and multiple organ failure. In 1978, he took the lead in carrying out a series of studies on inhalation injury, clarifying the pathogenesis of inhalation injury, and summarizing and forming a set of early treatment plan for inhalation injury. His monograph "inhalation injury" won the second prize of national science and Technology Progress Award in 1989. At the end of 1980s, it was originally proposed and verified that vascular endothelial cells play a central role in the early organ damage of burn. This achievement won the second prize of national science and technology progress award. In the late 1990s, he was responsible for organizing the compilation of Li'ao burn science. He was the first to recognize that early damage is the key to the treatment of severe burns. He developed a rapid rehydration and delayed resuscitation program; used early one-time large-area escharectomy; developed innovative prevention and treatment measures for early damage of burns to improve the cure rate of burns. He won the first prize of military medical achievements and the second prize of national science and technology progress award. It has trained 71 postdoctoral, master's and doctoral students, and is one of the most popular burn medical instructors in China.
