Li Zhiyuan
Li Zhiyuan (1907-january 23, 1978), the founding major general of the people's Republic of China, was born in Zhuwu village, Qiaotou Township, Yudu County, Jiangxi Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1930 and joined the Red Army of workers and peasants in the same year. He participated in the agrarian revolution, the war of resistance against Japan, the war of liberation and the war of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea.
He was awarded the rank of major general in 1955. On January 23, 1978, he died in Shijiazhuang at the age of 71.
