Ruan Xiaoxian's former residence

Ruan Xiaoxian's former residence is located in Xiatun village, Yihe Town, Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province. It was built in the Qing Dynasty. It is a Hakka residential building with three courtyards and has high artistic and ornamental value.

On June 29, 1989, it was announced as the third batch of cultural relics protection units of Guangdong Province by the people's Government of Guangdong Province.

Ruan Xiaoxian's former residence covers an area of about 2200 square meters and a construction area of 630 square meters. In 1996, the original appearance of the former residence was restored. In July 2002, it was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level. In 2004, it was renovated and the ancillary facilities were improved. Its architectural design has the characteristics and style of Hakka houses, and has high artistic and ornamental value. Comrade Ruan Xiaoxian (1898-1935) was born in Heyuan, Guangdong Province. He is one of the first 50 members of the Communist Party of China. He successively served as member of the central executive committee of the Soviet Union Republic of China, director of the central audit committee, Secretary of the Gannan provincial Party committee of the Communist Party of China and political member of the Gannan military region. He was an outstanding proletarian revolutionist of the Communist Party of China, a loyal communist fighter, a pioneer of the people's audit, and an anti-corruption expert during the revolutionary war of our party. He was once called a "white faced scholar" by Mao Zedong, an "economic guard" and an "anti-corruption expert" by the military and people of the Central Soviet area.
