More than 200 kinds of guns from 17 countries were officially displayed for the first time. These guns were originally scattered in other exhibition halls and gun depots. After one year's collection and arrangement, this exhibition was formed.
All kinds of guns on display are of the highest value in the world. Among them, there are not only representative guns of various times, but also guns of various famous brands, models and disguised as ordinary products. In particular, a browning pistol used by Dr. Sun Yat Sen is regarded as the treasure of the town hall. In addition, the fruit knife pistol and three inch golden gun used by Du Yuesheng, the leader of the youth gang, and Huang Jinrong, the hooligan leader, are also on display.
In China, there are only two public security museums in Beijing and Shanghai, while among the public security and police museums in the world, Shanghai public security museum is one with large scale and large collection.
Gun is a kind of traditional precision mechanical equipment. With the development of science and technology, many new technologies have been integrated in different stages, especially some guns are exquisite and become works of art. Therefore, for a long time, in the world, many people have a strong interest in guns as handicrafts.
In order to meet the needs of the audience, Shanghai public security museum began to prepare for the world famous gun exhibition last year. On the one hand, the museum staff rearranged the guns scattered in each exhibition hall, and at the same time, they searched for all kinds of famous guns with long history in the gun depots of the city. On the eve of the exhibition, Shanghai public security Museum found 238 guns with exact information. According to curator Wang, in fact, these guns on display are only a small part of the many gun collections in Shanghai. Due to the high degree of specialization of Shanghai gun depot, constant temperature and humidity in the gun depot, and all guns not used are sealed with gun oil with high viscosity, there has been no case of gun rust in the gun depot for many years. This provides a solid guarantee for the quality of the exhibits.
On the other hand, since the 1950s, Shanghai has established a strict anti-theft and management system for gun depots. All guns are registered. Through the computer, we can find out the source of the guns, who owned them before and who uses them now. So there has never been a theft.
Some of the guns on display this time, no matter their historical background, the special identity of users, and the superb gun manufacturing technology they represent, have a lot to say.
Gun development witnesses history
Among the exhibits are the incendiary pistol made in Italy in 1640, the firing revolver made in Scotland in the 17th century, the cap pistol made in England in the 18th century, the single barrel pistol used by German cavalry in the 18th century, the front mounted small pistol made in Italy in the 18th century, and the double barrel pistol made in the United States in the 19th century.
In the eyes of modern people, these carefully made ancient guns undoubtedly have precious collection value and ornamental value. However, since the Opium War, it was with these guns that the imperialist powers opened the door to China.
Many people may not know that the originator of modern guns is actually in China.
Among the exhibits, there is a very humble one, which looks and sizes like our present pump. This is a torch made of giant bamboo, which was invented in 1132 by Chen Gui, a military scientist of Southern Song Dynasty. In 1259 A.D., Shouchun Prefecture of the Southern Song Dynasty (now Shouxian County, Anhui Province) produced another kind of sudden fire gun, which also used giant bamboo as the barrel to fire the Zi Ke with black powder, porcelain, broken iron and stones inside. After it was set off, the muzzle of the Zi Ke spurted fire, and the Zi Ke flew out to kill the enemy. This is the earliest tubular shooting firearm in the world, hundreds of years earlier than the West.
It was not until the beginning of the 14th century that people in the West studied hot weapons. In the middle of the 14th century, the Italian invented the firearm. However, it is only a simple iron tube with no other parts. It uses solid spherical projectiles. The black powder and spherical projectiles are loaded into the barrel from the muzzle of the gun to ignite the powder from the fire door.
Sun Yat Sen's self defense pistol
The two pistols on the most eye-catching position of the display cabinet in the equipment museum were used by Dr. Sun Yat Sen, a revolutionary pioneer. One is a 7.63mm aztrela shell rifle made in Spain, commonly known as "fast and slow machine". This is a very precious gift gun. The body of the gun is ornate, 24K gold-plated, and the handle is inlaid with deep sea shells.
The Belgian made 6.35mm browning pistol on its side is like an ugly duckling, with a dark body and a small body far less than that of an Astra.
However, the browning pistol, whose body number is 464550, was unanimously identified as a national first-class cultural relic by experts from the State Administration of cultural relics, and became the "treasure of the town hall" of the Shanghai public security Museum.
It turned out that after the failure of Guangzhou Uprising on October 26, 1895, Dr. Sun Yat Sen got out of danger and went to Hong Kong, and arrived in London, England by way of Honolulu. There, Dr. Sun Yat Sen was arrested by the Qing government's embassy in Britain, and later rescued with the help of his medical teacher, kandeli. This is the famous "Sun Yat Sen's London disaster" incident.
In order to prevent the accident of rebirth, Kant Li gave Sun Yat Sen a browning gun. This small pistol was known as "little Beibei" at that time, and was mainly used by politicians as a gun for self-defense.
On February 8, 1956, the children of Xiao Xuan, a former veteran of the Kuomintang, handed over the pistol, which their father had kept for many years, to Luwan Public Security Bureau. Xiao Xuan participated in the alliance and served as the Secretary of Dr. Sun Yat Sen. When Xiao Xuan's children turned in the gun, they also attached Xiao Xuan's own description to prove that the browning pistol was used by Dr. Sun Yat Sen.
Du Yuesheng's fruit spear Huang Jinrong's three inch golden spear
At the exhibition, there are also handguns used by Du Yuesheng, the leader of the youth gang, and Huang Jinrong, the leader of the big hooligan. However, they are not displayed in the gun display cabinet of celebrities.
Du Yuesheng's pistol is displayed in the special gun display cabinet, which is a small knife and gun. It is said that Du Yuesheng was born as a fruit seller and was good at cutting pears, so until he became a "man of the sea", he never left his pear sharpener. But outsiders rarely know that his thick fruit knife, which is similar to the Swiss Army knife, is actually a very hidden small pistol!
The 6.35mm special gun, made in Switzerland, can be filled with one bullet and can be reloaded after firing. Within two meters, it is absolutely lethal. The insidious part of this gun is that it can paralyze the opponent by cutting fruit, and then shoot and hurt people by surprise.
Huang Jinrong's gun is a folding 6.35mm liruofer revolver made in Belgium. Because its handle is made of 24K gold, it is only as big as an egg after folding, so it is also called "three inch golden gun".
This is an extremely rare special gun. The small magazine can be filled with six bullets. Even Mr. Qian Bochun, an expert on firearms, admitted that he had seen thousands of guns, but for half a century, such a delicate gun was the only one.
The gun also has a small brown leather case, which looks like a common bag used by northerners. At the beginning, Huang Jinrong took his disciples and grandchildren to all kinds of respectable occasions. He seemed unarmed. In fact, who knew that a lethal weapon was hanging on his belt?
