Geopark
Geopark is a unique natural area with special geological scientific significance, rare natural properties, high aesthetic value, a certain scale and distribution of geological heritage landscape as the main body, and the integration of other natural landscape and human landscape. It not only provides people with high scientific grade places for sightseeing, vacation and leisure, health care and recuperation, culture and entertainment, but also is a key protection area for geological heritage landscape and ecological environment, and a base for geological science research and popularization.

Purpose of establishment
There are three main purposes for the establishment of geoparks: protecting geological relics, popularizing Geoscience Knowledge, developing tourism and promoting local economic development. Geoparks are divided into four levels: county level geoparks, provincial geoparks, national geoparks and world geoparks.
World Geopark
The Global Geopark network (GGN) is a Geopark approved by UNESCO and evaluated by the expert group after the field investigation by experts of UNESCO.
