Shidong Miao Village

Shidong is most famous for the Dragon Boat Festival from May 25 to 27 and the Taijiang sister Festival on March 15. Sister Festival has a long history in the local area. It is not only a grand gathering for married women to return to their mother's home, but also an auspicious day for young men and women to go on blind dates and sing songs. At that time, Miao women will put on the most ceremonious silver ornaments and spare no effort to be gorgeous. The Dragon Boat Festival is held on the Bank of Qingshui River. Several neighboring villages take turns to row boats, which is very lively.
