About the painter
Hirschkin (1832-1898) Ivan Ivanovitch hirschkin is one of the most representative landscape painters of the Russian roving exhibition school in the 19th century. All his life, he portrayed thousands of trees, described the magnificence of nature in northern Russia, explored the mystery of the forest, and was known as "the singer of the forest". Heathkin was born in a merchant family in viatka province. He lived in the forest since he was a child. He had deep feelings for the forest, and also made him acquire a lot of knowledge about the forest. From the beginning of learning painting, he was determined to paint the great forest. When he was 20 years old, he came to Moscow and was admitted to the Academy of painting, sculpture and architecture, and studied in mokritsky studio. After graduation, he was promoted to the Petersburg Academy of fine arts and studied in the painter vorobiyov's studio for five years. After nine years of art study, he had a solid foundation in painting. At the age of 28, he won the gold medal for his outstanding performance and went to Germany and France for further study. At the age of 33, he was awarded the title of academician of the Petersburg Academy of fine arts and was employed as a professor in 1873.
