The sea of clouds is a unique natural landscape of awa mountain in Ximeng County. In winter and spring, the radiation of awa mountain is strong at night. Wa people are hardworking, kind, simple and hospitable. Their unique folk customs have a very distinct personality among many ethnic minorities in Yunnan. The wazu Lama drum is a typical folk traditional activity. The wooden drum is about 2 years long and 0.5 meters thick. The Wa people regard it as the "God of heaven". Each village has a "wooden drum room" dedicated to the wooden drum. Whenever there is a major sacrificial activity or a fight between villages, the wooden drum will be knocked to inform them. It is necessary to select a tree from the nearby virgin forest to make wooden drum every year. Therefore, there is a traditional "Lamu drum" activity, which forms an annual grand celebration in awa mountain village. It often lasts for several days, including the ceremony of selecting, cutting, sacrificing and pulling wooden drum. The whole village is out and the scene is very spectacular. To kill cattle, to take liver to see hexagrams, to kill chickens to raise sacrifices, to use guns to expel ghosts, to sing and dance, to sing and pray.

The so-called "drum pulling" is the activity of cutting down trees from the forest outside the village, pulling them into the village, making new drums and replacing old ones. More than in November of lunar calendar (January of Wa calendar). At that time, the village leaders' meeting will first determine the time to pull the drum and the main sacrificial person (the person who produces the cattle and bears the cost of the activity), and prepare several buffalo to be killed, one yellow cattle to take the liver and watch the divination, and water wine and food. On the day of the drum pulling, young men go up the mountain to cut down the selected trees and prepare the drum making materials. In the early morning of the next day, all the people in the village (some women can't attend) came to play drums in their festival costumes. They sang and danced and dragged the wooden drums to the village with ropes. However, the drum can't enter the village on that day. It should be parked outside the village. After killing chickens for sacrifice, it should enter the village on another auspicious day.

When the new drum enters the village, the village is full of jubilation. People from neighboring villages also beat gongs and drums to celebrate. They sang and danced, plagiarized cattle, killed pigs, drank and entertained.

It takes about 20 days to make the new drum. On the day of the completion of digging, it is necessary to ring immediately to report the good news to the whole village and hold a ceremony to place the new wooden drum. In the evening, the whole village gathered around the wooden drum house, singing and dancing again to celebrate the smooth production of the new wooden drum. At this point, the whole "Lamu drum" sacrificial activities came to an end.

It is said that the Wa people pull wooden drums to offer sacrifices to the God "Mo Wei". Wa people believe that "Mo Wei" is the incarnation of human ancestors. He usually lives in Tiangong and does not ask about human affairs. Only when he heard the sound of the wooden drum, he would go down to earth to help mankind out of danger or share happiness.
