It was originally an ancient crocodile ferry. It is said that Han Yu set up an altar here to sacrifice crocodiles when he stabbed the tide in Tang Dynasty, and wrote "crocodile literature", so it was named. The river in front of the platform, when the clouds are high and clear in autumn, can sail three sails with one wind, so it is called "crocodile crossing autumn wind" and listed as one of the "Eight Sights of Chaozhou".

In 1987, an autumn wind Pavilion and a platform were built at the original site. Crocodile crossing Qiufeng Pavilion is made of gold and stone, with four columns and four corners and double eaves. It is divided into two levels. The upper Pavilion goes down, surrounded by stone railings to protect the corridor railings, which is dignified and elegant. Inside the pavilion, there is a platform dedicated to crocodiles, inscribed with plaques of "crocodiles crossing autumn wind" and "platform dedicated to crocodiles". One of the joint days: "the Buddha's bone drips back to the mountains and the sea and gains weight; the crocodile moves to the rivers and clarifies from then on.". Another column couplet is: "what's wrong with the stream stone; Jiang Shan likes to be surnamed Han.". There is a lifelike stone crocodile in the pavilion, with a large stone tablet on its back. The full text of Han Yu's "sacrifice to crocodile" is engraved on the front and (crocodile crossing Pavilion inscription) on the back. Every autumn, the scenery here is the most charming.

Allusions of sacrificing crocodile platform

It is said that when Han Yu arrived in Chaozhou on March 25 that year, he knew the sufferings of the people very well: "it is said that there are crocodiles in the evil stream eating the products of the people, and the people are poor.". On April 24, Han Yu wrote a memorial to crocodiles. He asked his subordinate Qin Ji to kill a pig and a sheep. He went to the place where crocodiles often appear in the middle of the North dike, lit incense candles, read out the memorial, and ordered the crocodiles to return to the sea. At that time, Chaozhou people poured out of the city. There were a lot of people and there was no sound. Han Yu sternly announced: "crocodile! Crocodile! Han Yu was ordered by the emperor to come here as an assassin to protect the land and protect the people. But you are here to harm the people. Now, Gu Nian, you are ignorant and will not be punished. You are only allowed to take the same race to sea in three days. If you don't go for three days, you will go for five days. If you don't go for five days, you will go for seven days. If you don't go for seven days, you will be severely punished. At the end of the speech, the sacrifice was incinerated and the pigs and sheep were thrown into the stream to worship the crocodiles. It is said that the crocodile was worshipped on that day. At night, there was a storm and thunder and lightning in the stream. However, a few days later, the water in the stream retreated, and the crocodile had to move to the sea five or six miles away. Therefore, the name of "evil stream" is changed to "Yi stream" according to people's wishes. The place where crocodiles are sacrificed is called "Hanpu"; the ferry is called "crocodile ferry", and the crocodile stream has been called "Hanjiang" since then
