Jiaxiu square is located on the Bank of Nanming River to the west of the West Lake office, next to Jiaxiu building. It is reconstructed from Binhe Road and Binhe lane, covering an area of 16500 square meters. It was invested 50 million yuan by Nanming District government and started construction on October 8, 2001. After more than three months, it was officially opened to the public on February 4, 2002. Jiaxiu square is paved with 8800 square meters of granite ground, 2700 square meters of bluestone slabs, 300 square meters of cobblestone fitness road and 4700 square meters of lawn, 3700 shrubs and 20506 pots of seasonal flowers, 235 precious trees, including two Ginkgo trees which are more than 300 years old.

design idea

Jiaxiu square is designed according to the idea of "setting up the city by the environment" and "people-oriented". Copper sculptures such as children's fun, morning exercise, fishing, Taijiquan, mother and son love reflect the people's living and working in peace and contentment; "song of spring" stainless steel sculpture symbolizes the economic and social development of Nanming District; six totem pillars carved from white marble, two of which are engraved with "Qianshan" and "Xiushui", symbolizing the prosperity of Nanming District The other four "spring, summer, autumn and winter" symbolize the forest city, Guiyang is like spring all the year round; the "twelve constellations" have different styles, reflecting the cycle of a year; the water fountain "Qingtian Yizhu" is magnificent, expressing the determination of Guiyang to become a strong city; the "dry land color fountain" in the square can choose more than 100 pieces of music, and the fountain can "dance" with the music beat ”。 420 lamps with national characteristics make the night scene of the square particularly beautiful and charming. Lusheng lamp, orchid lamp In addition, there are flying geese lights, which also express the good wishes of "the Nanming River becomes clear in three years" and geese return to build a city and settle down.
