Introduction to scenic spots
Jinxian temple, a thousand year old ancient temple, was founded in the Liang Dynasty of the Southern Dynasty. It has a history of one thousand years. After several repairs, its style is still the same. The gate of the temple is facing Baiyang Lake. A pair of stone lions in front of the gate are looking at the lake after thousands of years. Whenever the setting sun comes to the west, the sun is still like blood, and the four fields are silent. The sound of the Bell comes leisurely, filling every corner with thousands of years of copper rust. The tired birds go to their nests through the lake and the bell. According to Cixi County written by Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, the temple was first built during the reign of Liang Datong in the Southern Dynasty (535-545), with a history of more than 1400 years. During the reign of Tang Ganyuan (758-759), Zen master Fulin Duzhi lived here and changed his name to Fulin. In the second year of song Zhiping (165), Baiyang Lake was once known as Jinxian lake, and the imperial court granted Jinxian temple, which became a famous temple in eastern Zhejiang at that time. In 1699 and 172, it was expanded twice; in 1835, it was destroyed by fire and rebuilt soon; in 1862, it was destroyed again by war; in 1873, it was rebuilt. In 1989, Yao Yunlong, a Hong Kong resident of Cixi, donated money to rebuild Jinxian temple in view of its location in Baiyang Lake scenic area, which was approved by Ningbo Municipal Government in November of that year. Nearly ten years later, the temple of Buddha, Tianwang hall, Wanghu tower, Baihu lecture hall and two guest rooms were restored, and the Jade Buddha Pavilion, Wanfo tower and other buildings were newly built. Now there are 172 halls and houses, covering an area of 42 mu. The temple is magnificent and the Buddha statue is solemn. It has become a large-scale forest in East Zhejiang.
