Related legend: Longcheng temple, the original famous temple in Longcheng mountain, is the place where scriptures are stored. It is said that after Zhou Yu died young, Sun Quan's mother felt pity for Xiao Qiao, so she went to Gucheng to pick her up and return to Jianye (now Nanjing). When the sedan chair passed through Longcheng mountain, it was blocked by two drunk Taoists. When sun's mother ordered him to take it, the two Taoists were scared to death. For this reason, her grandmother was often in a trance and had trouble sleeping and eating. So in 239 ad, someone built a square pagoda of brick and wood structure in Longcheng mountain. Longcheng temple was renamed Baosheng temple in the reign of Xiangfu of Song Dynasty. The pagoda was rebuilt in the fourth year of Shaoxing of Song Dynasty (1134). After reconstruction, it was named after the temple. It has been repaired for more than 800 years since Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Highlights: Copper bells are hung on the eaves of each floor of the pagoda. When the wind blows, the clear bell will spread everywhere. From a distance, the ancient pagoda stands on the earth like a huge pen. From a close view, it looks like a jade shoot rising from the ground, majestic and beautiful. The local officials of past dynasties regarded the tower as the treasure of the town and county, while the folk ranked it first among the "four treasures" of Gaochun. Since the later generations renovated the pagoda for many times, the present pagoda not only shows the charm of Tang clan, but also contains the style of Ming and Qing Dynasties.
