Changning campus of East China University of political science and law was originally St. John's university campus. In 1879, Bishop Joseph Schneider of the Anglican Church of the United States set up John's college here. On campus, the Taofen building with a combination of Chinese and Western styles is most worth seeing. Its original name was "Huaishi hall", which was later renamed to commemorate Zou Taofen.
