Mingde College of Northwestern Polytechnic University, formerly known as Jinye College of information technology of Northwestern Polytechnic University, is an independent college at undergraduate level approved by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. Relying on the strong comprehensive advantages of Northwest University of technology, the college sets up majors according to the needs of national and regional economic construction and social development as well as the development trend of modern science and technology, highlighting the characteristics of electronic information, advanced manufacturing, humanities and arts, modern economy and management and other disciplines. Xi'an Mingde Institute of technology is a full-time private college approved by the Ministry of education, formerly known as Mingde College (Independent College) of Northwestern Polytechnic University. It is a national advanced independent college, a 5A Level College of Shaanxi Provincial Department of civil affairs, and a model college of China's educational reform and innovation.

In 1999, Jinye Institute of information technology of Northwestern Polytechnic University was founded; in 2005, it was renamed Mingde College of Northwestern Polytechnic University; on March 30, 2020, the Party group meeting of the Ministry of Education decided to transfer Mingde College of Northwestern Polytechnic University to Xi'an Mingde Institute of technology, and cancel the organizational system of Mingde College of Northwestern Polytechnic University.

As of June 2020, the college covers an area of 610 mu, with a building area of 266300 square meters. It has seven secondary colleges, seven functional departments, six teaching and auxiliary units, 31 undergraduate majors, more than 700 teaching staff and nearly 9000 undergraduate students.

Mingde College of Northwestern Polytechnic University

In 1999, Shaanxi Jinye science and Education Group Co., Ltd., Northwest University of technology and Shaanxi Jinye West University of Technology Software Co., Ltd. jointly established Jinye College of information technology of Northwest University of technology.

In March 2000, Jinye College of information technology of Northwest University of technology started the construction of teaching building, apartment building, restaurant, training building and other infrastructure.

In August 2000, Jinye College of information technology of Northwest University of technology began to recruit students.

In 2005, Shaanxi Jinye science and Education Group Co., Ltd. and Northwestern Polytechnic University jointly applied for the establishment of Mingde College of Northwestern Polytechnic University, an independent college at undergraduate level, on the basis of the successful running of Jinye College of information technology, which was approved by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. In September, Mingde College of Northwestern Polytechnic University officially enrolled undergraduates and became an ordinary university implementing undergraduate degree education. In September 2010, Mingde College of Northwestern Polytechnic University ushered in its 10th anniversary.

 

On June 21, 2014, the school held its 15th anniversary celebration.

On February 26, 2020, the Ministry of education plans to approve the transfer of Mingde College of Northwestern Polytechnic University to Xi'an Mingde Institute of technology

 

. In March, the Ministry of Education approved the transfer of Mingde College of Northwestern Polytechnic University to Xi'an Mingde Institute of technology, with the school identification code of 4161013894; at the same time, the establishment of Mingde College of Northwestern Polytechnic University was abolished.

 

On May 16, Xi'an Mingde Institute of technology opened in nanshanyuan international academic exchange center of Northwest University of technology.
