Haihui town

Haihui Town, belonging to Lushan City, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the eastern suburb of Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. It is adjacent to Poyang Lake in the East, Wulao peak in Lushan Mountain in the west, urban area of Lushan city in the South and Gaolong township of Lianxi District in the north. It was once an official post station, called cha'an in the Song Dynasty, Tulou in the period of the Republic of China, and later named Haihui with the meaning of "hundred rivers meet the sea". It has a history of more than 2000 years ancient town.

The town covers an area of 11.36 square kilometers, with an average altitude of 380m. It is rich in forest resources. The terrain is low in the East and high in the west, with mountain forests in the West. It is a part of Lushan Mountain. It is located in subtropical area with pleasant climate and abundant rainfall. The town is rich in resources and contains a lot of kaolin and granite. The drinking irrigation water in the town comes from Lushan Mountain, and the water quality is excellent. It is about 9.5km along the shoreline of Poyang Lake, and the fishery conditions are superior.

On July 28, 2017, Haihui town was selected as the second batch of small towns with Chinese characteristics.

Historical evolution

Before 1958, it was subordinate to the Fifth District of Xingzi County. In 1958, it established Haihui commune, established Haihui Township in 1984, and established town in 1992. In 1997, with an area of 56 square kilometers and a population of 10000, it has jurisdiction over five administrative villages: Haihui, Changling, wulizhou, gantangpu and Pengshan. At the end of 2001, Gaolong township was abolished and merged. Attachment: Gaolong township is located in the southeast of Lushan District, bordering Poyang Lake in the East. The township government is located in Gaolong, 20 kilometers away from the district government. Jiujiang Xingzi highway passes through the territory. There is a toad stone wharf beside Poyang Lake. In 1957, it belonged to Lushan Administration Bureau. Gaolong commune was established in 1958 and changed to township in 1984. In 1997, it covers an area of 40 square kilometers and has a population of 11000. It governs six administrative villages: Wuxing, Gaolong, Shuanglong, yinmen, Gushan and Qingshan. On December 25, 2001, Gaolong township was abolished and transferred to Haihui town.

In May 2016, according to the spirit of the reply of the State Council on approving Jiangxi Province to adjust some administrative divisions of Jiujiang City (Guo Han [2016] No. 58), Jiangxi provincial government issued a notice on adjusting some administrative divisions of Jiujiang City after research. Xingzi County was abolished and Lushan city at county level was established. Lushan District of Jiujiang City was renamed Lianxi district.

The management scope of Lushan tea farm in Haihui town is under the jurisdiction of Guling Town, Lushan city.

From Haihui Town, Lianxi District, Jiujiang City, there are seven village (neighborhood) committees, including Gaolong, Lushan cement plant, Wuxing, Shuanglong, yinmen, Gushan and Qingshan. Gaolong Township, Lianxi District, Jiujiang City is established, and the township government is stationed in Gaolong neighborhood committee.

The adjusted Haihui town (Haihui, Luxing, Pengshan, Changling, Wuzhou, Guangming and other six villages and neighborhood committees) is under the jurisdiction of Lushan City, and the development strategy of "Yunwu town" is determined.

The first-class highway in Jiangxi Province is around Lushan Avenue, passing through the territory, and the traffic is very convenient.

Haihui town is a famous tourism town, which has won the reputation of the first tourism town in the whole country. There are Lushan east gate, Lushan San diequan scenic spot, Quaternary glacial relics, bilongtan scenic spot and other famous scenic spots; Haihui temple, the site of the former Kuomintang officer training regiment and a large number of historical sites.

Haihui town is the birthplace of Lushan Yunwu Tea, known as "the place where tea saints fall to taste tea, and" the place where poetry immortals build the hidden traces of Lushan ". It is the main planting place of Lushan Yunwu Tea transmission group species (small leaf varieties) and the main distribution place of Lushan Yunwu tea natural wild tea (all in the mountain forest with an altitude of 600-800 meters). The "Qijian Youlan" Yunwu Tea planting base represents Lushan Yunwu Tea to participate in the Centennial World Expo and won the Golden Camel award of China famous tea.

Taking full advantage of resources, we have vigorously developed various tourism economic models, such as landscape tourism, lakeside tourism, agricultural sightseeing, leisure and vacation, and created a number of tourist attractions, such as Sandiequan scenic spot, bilongtan scenic spot, Sandiequan drifting, glacier Grand Canyon drifting, Nianfeng Baiguoyuan, Hailong villa, etc. Tourism has become the pillar industry of the town. The area of the market town has grown from 27.2 hectares in 2007 to 95 hectares.
